Over 2 million people are currently internally displaced in Burkina Faso due to conflict and insecurity. Burkina Faso also hosts 38,000 refugees from the region. Ireland is proud to support ShelterBox’s response by providing blankets and mosquito nets to protect vulnerable communities.

Ireland has committed to providing €105m to the World Food Programme, the world's largest humanitarian organisation, over the period 2025 to 2027. This represents Ireland’s biggest-ever financial commitment to the WFP, a 40% increase compared to the previous agreement.
