A PFC with a difference. "Slightly" bigger than the off the shelf channels, we recently made these 1200x350 channels that come in at 838kg/m. Both Flange & Web are 60mm S355J2 with the weld detail being a mixture of a FW & PPBW ground flush on the open side. This is one of two 7.2m pieces Being sent out just in time for delivery to the UK before Xmas.

Load cells coming in handy over the past few weeks as we turn these bridge sections in the workshop. Weathering steel plate girder beams in excess of 50tonne, 30meters long and over 2meters tall. The photo really doesn't do these beams justice. #bridge #beam #plategirder #Ireland #Manufacturing #laois #engineering

Subsea Micropiles is excited to announce our alliance with Jamestown Manufacturing Ltd following a successful period of collaboration over the past two years. We have signed an MOU to formalise their status as our preferred partner for the fabrication of anchors and foundations in Ireland, the UK, and wider global market. Together we are ready to address the critical need for scalable industrial solutions in support of fixed and floating offshore wind and the opportunity to localize high volume manufacturing in support of large construction projects.

Great project to be involved in over the last few months with Mack Engineering. Looking forward to the next one. Whitten Road Haulage Gabriel O'Brien Crane Hire Ltd. John Sisk & Son Ltd
𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸-𝗙𝗼𝘆𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 📽 🌉 The Sisk team on our Limerick-Foynes project completed another major milestone earlier this week with the reinstatement of the Roberstown Viaduct Bridge. Our team removed and scrapped the original bridge as it was beyond repair. The new bridge is the largest of five major structures on the project and consists of two main trusses, each 55 tonnes and 47m long. Total weight of the steel structure is 170 tonnes. The Liebherr Group 1200 tonne mobile crane was provided by Gabriel O'Brien Crane Hire Ltd. and the lift was delivered in partnership with Mack Engineering. Sometimes pictures can be misleading but this plate girder for Steel & Roofing Systems really had a bit of everything. •810x800 Plate Girder with 80mm flanges & webs (1,413kg/m). With a length of 17.5m, this beam differs from the norm in that 8.5m of the beam was straight with the remaining 9m with a camber of 20mm. Welding of the plate girder was completed on our beam welding line where this beam had a sub-arc carcass weld of 15mm FW but it also had increased welds of 35mm FW & 40mm FW in localised areas due to the requirements. •This PG then went through its fabrication sequence of: - Cutting to length - Fitting and welding of 40mm stiffeners - Drilling of both flange and webs holes - Fab and weld of shelf angles(RSA200*200*20) - Lifting eyes - Fab and weld of over 180no. couplers. •Blast & Prime prior to site was also required. Blasting to SA2.5 was carried out followed by 80microns of Primer. Un-masked areas were also taken care of in advance. •Sitting at a final weight of 29.5 tonne, Our straddle carrier made light work of moving this between beam welding to fabrication to paint and then its final lift onto the trailer for site.

Great to have the lads from Whitten Road Haulage in this week working on two projects. 46m long by 3.1m wide (56tonne) truss being moved from our paint hall. This large truss was blasted & painted with a 4 coat system. Rhys, Simon & Dan making the movements look easy. We also had crane beams heading to Newry. These were fabricated, welded, trial fitted, blasted, painted and fully fitted out with mechanical/electrical before having the crane fully operational. The beams were then stripped for transport leaving our customer happy that they crane is operational before it heads to site. Special thanks to Dan Mahon for getting his Drone up for some top quality photos.
