LauraLynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice
Non-profit Organizations
Providing palliative care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. RCN: 20154844
About us
LauraLynn is the only Children’s Hospice providing palliative care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families in Ireland. LauraLynn’s care can be delivered in our hospice, at hospital, in the community, or in the family home, depending on the child and family’s preference and the medical needs of the child. LauraLynn’s holistic approach to care ensures we support the whole family, allowing patients to be children and parents to have time to be a ‘Mums and Dads’ rather than full-time carers. Separate to our children’s hospice service, we also provide a disability service to a small number of adults and children.

At LauraLynn, our sensory room serves as a wonderful setting for music sessions for children during their stay. These sensory spaces play a crucial role in promoting sensory integration, boosting engagement, reducing anxiety and overstimulation, and improving overall well-being. In the sensory room, creating music often sparks enchanting adventures—whether it's singing about the fish swimming in the bubble tube, the stars twinkling overhead, or setting sail on a journey across the seas aboard a red boat water bed, all accompanied by an improvised story-song crafted by our talented music therapists. 💙

We’re thrilled to see that Cork airport have teamed up with Re-turn to introduce the first reverse vending machines (RVMs) at a transportation hub as part of the Deposit Return Scheme. All proceeds generated by these charitable RVMs will be equally distributed among the six children's charities involved in the Return for Children initiative: Barnardos Ireland, Barretstown, ISPCC, The Jack and Jill Children's Foundation, Make-A-Wish Ireland and our organisation. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Cork Airport for their outstanding support.
