Mainline Chief Executive Officer Jamie O'Rourke officially launched our participation in this year’s Construction Safety Month today in the Mainline Place Boardroom. Mainline are an official partner with the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) in supporting and promoting this year’s campaign that follows on from last year’s 2023 theme on managing critical risks. Jamie outlined Mainlines approach during the launch:   This years event sees Mainline focusing on our Critical Risk: Activities we undertake frequently that, if not controlled, could lead to significant injury or fatality. This safety month, we are asking all staff and workers to examine fundamental safety questions such as:   Do you know your critical risks?  Have you controls in place to manage these risks? Are your colleagues aware of these risks? Are the controls in place to protect safety adequate?   We will be promoting our Stay Safe @Work@Home and Stay Well @Work@Home programs during the weeks of the campaign. To promote the campaign any Stay Safe Card submitted during the month of October identifying a critical risk topic will be entered into a draw to win a Free Tablet.

Mainline, as one of ESB Networks contracting partners, have recently completed a project in Scarteen 38kV Substation, Co Cork. This work was delivered as part of the ongoing 38kV - 110kV Electrical Distribution Framework. Our scope of works included the maintenance of both 38kV & 10kV AIS equipment and tap changing maintenance. Also included within our scope was the replacing of line disconnects, insulators, bushings, VT's and protection relay modifications. All works were completed under outage and supervised by Mainline's ESB approved PICW's, and successfully returned to service without incident. We are proud to be contributing to the upgrading of our electrical infrastructure and delighted to be a supporting partner to the ESB on such critical works.
