The National Library is open, free of charge, to all those who wish to consult the collections. You will need a Reader’s Ticket to consult most categories of material. We do not lend books and reading is done in the various reading rooms. We have a copying service and it is possible to get digital images, prints and photocopies of most items in the collections. Find the Gaeilge i do chroí this Seachtain na Gaeilge 💚 Learn to embrace our native tongue unashamedly with Molly Nic Céile 📆 Wednesday, 5 March at 7pm: https://lnkd.in/eHBqFJ5u In November 2019, Molly Nic Céile started a Youtube & Instagram page, called 'Gaeilge i mo chroí' to share just that-the Irish in her heart. Not a native speaker herself, Molly started out making videos about simple words and phrases as Gaeilge but as her audience grew so did her passion which led her to write her first book in September 2024, 'Gaeilge i mo chroí: Irish in my heart - Your Guide to Loving and Living the Irish Language', in which she encourages the reader to leave behind any ill feelings towards the language and discover the richness that it has to offer. During this online talk, hosted by the National Library of Ireland as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge le Energia, Molly will delve into the key lessons and advice that she offers in her book for those who would like to start or restart their journey with the Irish language.

Stop the (letter)press! 🛑 For the new exhibition at the National Print Museum, this 1960s Abbey Theatre poster on loan from the National Library of Ireland showcases the letterpress technique. 🖨️ (Look for letterpress printing machines downstairs👀) In preparation for display, the poster was mounted without adhesive using paper photo corners which support the item under the window. The poster will be switched out halfway through the exhibition, so the top of the upper corners can be opened to easily change to the new poster. 🖼️ Exhibition open from 28 Feb! https://lnkd.in/gmXVqH2J
