We are delighted to have been selected for this excellent initiative. The support from Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail and CIÉ - Córas Iompair Éireann will be hugely significant to increase the production of our native species. Trees produced from this project will sequester carbon, create habitats for birds and wildlife while enhancing biodiversity.

Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail have committed to plant 120,000 trees by 2030 on our lands as part of our Biodiversity Action Plan. The demand for native trees on Irish nurseries is already at an all time high. So to help with this Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail with funding from CIÉ - Córas Iompair Éireann have launched our Native Seed Collection Programme that will run for 3 years to try encourage and assist Irish nurseries to expand their collection of seeds and the propagation of native Irish trees and shrubs. Following a competitive tender, congratulations to Lar Behan Teige Ryan None-So-Hardy (Forestry) Ltd. and Jack Egerton FERMOY WOODLAND NURSERIES LIMITED who were present at the launch of the programme with CEO of Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail, Jim Meade and Caoimhe Donnelly, Chief Sustainability Officer CIÉ - Córas Iompair Éireann.
