“The future of payments isn’t about one solution replacing another; it’s about giving merchants and payers the flexibility to choose the best option for their needs,” writes Donal McGuinness, CEO at Prommt. As payment technology evolves, so does the way we use cards. Mobile and contactless payments are becoming the norm, and wearable tech – like Apple Watches, fitness trackers, rings and keychains – makes paying with just a tap even more convenient. Payment innovation isn’t about replacing card payments, but enhancing them. In his latest op-ed for European Business Magazine, Donal discusses why #card payments remain relevant, even as consumers and businesses embrace new payment options like #openbanking. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/exqwdhT2 #sendaprommt #paybycard #paybybank #paymentorchestration
About us
Established in 2017, in Dublin, Ireland, Prommt took a leading position in the emerging pay by link market, providing a far more sophisticated and robust payment request solution than anything already on the market. We quickly expanded to the UK, Europe and North America. Prommt is now trusted by many world-leading brands, particularly within automotive, hospitality, luxury retail and builders merchants sectors. During 2022, we introduced open banking payments to the platform, known as Pay by Bank. By 2023, our breadth of capability expanded to include the orchestration of card or bank payments, via web, in App or via the traditional messaging channels. Our API seamlessly integrates bank and card payments to deliver greater impact to profitability by driving significant savings, at scale. Prommt is highly suited to all enterprises who need to collect higher value payments. Collecting these payments carries a significant risk of unpaid transactions, payment operation costs, fraud and time spent chasing payments. We meet these challenges head on with average payment success rates greater than 90% and some clients reporting a reduction in card fees by almost 88%. Prommt was named winner of the Best Open Banking Service Initiative awarded by Global Payments Innovation Awards 2023.

“Deliver a great experience, and customers will buy more, stay loyal, and spread the word. But what defines a great experience? Convenience, choice, and consistency,” writes Adam Ball, CCO at Prommt, in his latest op-ed for Irish Tech News. Offering choice is important, but too many options - like a checkout packed with 20 payment methods - can lead to confusion and cart abandonment. Instead, businesses should focus on a few secure, convenient digital payment options that seamlessly integrate into their omnichannel strategy. Businesses with a strong omnichannel approach can see up to an 89% boost in customer retention. In his article, Adam shares three actionable methods for implementing effective omnichannel payments. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e6-NwqrS #sendaprommt #omnichannel #payments #paybybank #paybycard

77% of customers say they’d abandon their cart if their preferred payment method isn’t available, according to a recent report by PYMNTS. In today’s digital world, a fast, frictionless and personalised experience isn’t just nice to have - it’s essential. The checkout process is more than a transaction; it’s the final brand touchpoint where impressions are made and loyalty is won. When brands cater to customer preferences, they’re not just selling - they’re building a meaningful connection. Every step of the shopping journey shapes how customers feel, and that positive feeling is what brings them back. With the holiday season around the corner, Donal McGuinness, CEO at Prommt, shares four key strategies for a seamless, personalised checkout that boosts sales and brand loyalty, in his latest op-ed for Retailist. At Prommt, we ensure that all payment communications are clear and context-driven, reducing the risk of customers making unintended purchases. How do we achieve this? By focusing on strong branding. Each payment link is branded and sent from the merchant’s domain, so customers know it’s legitimate. These links direct payers to the merchant’s website - something many platforms overlook. Plus, receipts come straight from the merchant, further building trust. With the new PSR regulations, we’ve taken this up a notch - especially given that Prommt handles a lot of high-value transactions. Now, at checkout, customers see not only the merchant's name but also the specific staff member who sent the payment link. For example, if a customer worked with Cillian at a car dealership, his name will appear during checkout, adding a personal touch and enhancing trust in the payment process. We also provide key transaction details like payment initiation time, so customers can cross-check with their own records. Every detail shared by the merchant is displayed, ensuring payers have a chance to review everything before confirming payment. While it’s impossible to eliminate fraud completely, Prommt has made payments more secure and transparent. We equip customers with the cues they need to spot inconsistencies and decline any suspicious payments. APP Fraud Prevention at Checkout 🚀 Allows the Customer to view detailed information about their payments. 🚀 Reduces the risk of the Customer falling victim to scams. 🚀 Decreases the likelihood of Prommt Merchants being held liable for fraud. Check out our latest Q&A with Stephen Culligan, CPO at Prommt, where we discuss common types of APP fraud, how to recognise them, and how Prommt helps protect merchants. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e5qfqVjn #sendaprommt #APPfraud #paybybank #openbanking
