Places of Sanctuary Ireland (PoSI) is a network of groups and local communities which share the objectives of promoting a culture of welcome and inclusiveness across every sphere and sector of society in Ireland, so that wherever people seeking sanctuary go they will feel safe, find people who welcome them and understand why they are here, and have opportunities to be included in all activities.
Places of Sanctuary Ireland is delighted to announce two new exciting employment opportunities.
1) Sanctuary Ambassador Coordinator
Places of Sanctuary Ireland wishes to recruit a part-time Sanctuary Ambassador Coordinator for a new position to work to recruit, equip and empower Sanctuary Ambassadors to share their stories, cultures & skills in schools, universities, libraries, local councils and other community settings. Sanctuary Ambassadors are people with lived experience of immigration and international protection in Ireland. They are committed to building bridges between refugees and Irish communities, and thereby reducing the risk of divisive stereotyping and spreading of misinformation.
2) Sanctuary in Education Coordinator
Places of Sanctuary Ireland wishes to recruit a part-time Sanctuary in Education Coordinator to work on a new project, ‘Sanctuary in Education - Stronger Together’, with Places of Sanctuary Ireland’s (PoSI) education streams. The role will grow and consolidate the unique PoSI culture of integration in both the ‘Schools of Sanctuary’ and the ‘Universities of Sanctuary’ streams and explore the possibility of a new ‘Colleges of Sanctuary’ stream.
