Folláin is proud to announce our third annual partnership with the Simon Communities of Ireland this Christmas, supporting their invaluable work in providing services for those facing homelessness across Ireland. We are donating 50% of proceeds from all online gift box sales directly to Simon until the 30th of December. At Folláin, we hold a deep appreciation for the importance of family and the concept of home. This partnership with the Simon Communities of Ireland allows us to give back in a meaningful way that aligns with our core values. The need to support the work Simon do is greater than ever, as of now, over 14,700 people in Ireland are experiencing homelessness, over 4,400 of whom are children. In this video, Peadar, Máirín, Máiréad, and Mícheál share why this campaign means so much to us and our hopes for this year’s campaign.

The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage has released its latest report, showing that the number of men, women, and children experiencing homelessness reached 14,966 in October. This represents an increase of 206 people compared to the previous month. 4,645 of these are children. Tony Geoghegan, Interim Executive Director of the Simon Communities of Ireland, said: “Regardless of the outcome of the current election, and the composition of the new Government, our ask remains the same. The new Government must commit to end homelessness and the need to sleep rough by 2030. This will require an all of Government approach that encompasses increased investment in public and social housing, homeless prevention, and health and social care supports for those experiencing homelessness.” Press Release: https://lnkd.in/e4E6Bbdg
