Investment works! Fair play to Dublin City Council Community Teams in providing safe, family friendly events in the #LibertiesDublin area. Supported by Community Policing Teams in An Garda Síochána and professional events companies, youth organisations like Solas Project and Foróige, Dublin Fire Brigade mapped less fires than in previous years, and the waste management teams pulled out all the stops in the past few weeks making sure there was less material to hand. A few hotspots prevailed, but overall, a really inclusive schedule of events replicated in communities throughout the city. From early yesterday I witnessed the Darndale preparations with Paul Rogers and the Community Foundation Ireland team visit to the Darndale Belcamp Integrated Childcare Service #CommunityCentre, #TheCabbageGarden antics with THE IVEAGH TRUST and Kevin Kelleher, #LoisSalmon & Amy Carey and colleagues from Solas Project with their respective teams and so many more. Collaboration, welcome, excitement, safety, celebration and consideration of everyone's needs is heart of how these events come together.
