According to a survey of Techies Go Green members, almost half of companies have a formal sustainability policy or strategy in place. Our research involving 41 business and technology professionals, found that 39% are developing a formal sustainability policy or strategy. Almost three-quarters of respondents (73%) said sustainability is very important in their company’s overall strategy and some 63% include sustainability criteria when selecting partners or suppliers. Despite this, 29% of technology or business leaders surveyed do not currently track their carbon emissions and 32% track them but have not set specific targets. Celebrate the holidays sustainably while aligning with your ESG goals! 🎁 🌍 Here are five ways to make your office celebrations meaningful and eco-conscious: • Encourage Lower Emissions: Encourage employees to power down non-essential electronics and lights during the holiday break and create an incentive for carpooling to holiday events. • Green Gifting: Host a gift exchange featuring handmade, second-hand, or locally sourced items, or give reusable company-branded gifts. • Low-Waste Party Planning: Serve locally sourced food, use compostable dining ware, and donate leftovers to charities or encourage employees to bring containers for leftover food. •Community Focus: Organise volunteering or donation drives to create a positive social impact alongside your environmental efforts. •Eco-Friendly Decorations: Use natural or recycled materials like paper garlands and opt for LED string lights. How is your workplace incorporating ESG values into holiday celebrations? Share your ideas below. 💭 #Sustainability #ESG #GreenHolidays #TechiesGoGreen
