Fabulous morning yesterday spent at "Quest Software" in City Gate at Tech Industry Alliance 'Tech Talk' organised in partnership with KPMG Ireland & Skillnet Innovation Exchange The topic of the discussion was: - *** Driving Growth Through Innovation Exchange *** Tech Industry Alliance is really proving to be at the Coalface of Technological advancements by bringing such insightful discussion topics to their members here in Ireland’s Tech Capital Cork! Yesterday’s panelists shared their empowering stories from a rapidly evolving world of Technology & Innovation. It was certainly worth navigating Cork’s early morning traffic to make it to this event where myself & my colleague Cliona Quaid listened to panellists - Alan Henley Director GRANITE - Global Digital Agency Digital Conor Carmody Programme Director at Skillnet Ireland Innovation Exchange Helen Clarke Head of Operations at Clarke Analytics Ltd. ** This panel of thought-leaders was excellently chaired by Breda O'Callaghan, Managing Director (Technology Enablement) at KPMG KPMG Ireland who seamlessly took on the role of MC! Conor is really championing the cause of Ireland’s numerous Technology start-ups through his ‘Innovation Exchange’ initiative which serves to connect Ireland’s most innovative SMEs and startups with large corporates. It’s clear to all in attendance yesterday that the ‘Innovation Exchange’ really does solve real-life challenges for large corporates and it works well for both side – Start-ups get the help, guidance, support they need to get on the radar of large Corporates and the latter get access to a pool of Talented, Intuitive and passionate Technologists and the products / solutions they have developed. Start-ups obviously need to come to the table with a product / solution that add real value to their target audience, but for sure there seems to be a common goal to embrace Innovation amongst all stakeholders… Not to be a party-pooper, but I felt the need to ask the question ‘What is the market sentiment in relation to balancing the increased Risk that invariably comes with all this fantastic Innovation?’…. Sorry Conor, I just couldn’t resist and maybe we are now getting to a point where Cyber Risk is involved in all of these discussions at all stages along the way, as it should be. Lastly, as seems to be just a constant right now at Tech events, the rise of Gen AI was discussed and it was interesting to hear the panels views on the pace of change and what may potentially be changing next!
