Serving our customers, communities and planet a little better every day.

About us

Tesco is one of the biggest private sector employers in Ireland employing over 13,000 colleagues across the country. Our core purpose is to serve our customers, communities and planet a little better every day - this is at the heart of everything we do. Supporting local suppliers is very much part of the business ethos of Tesco Ireland; we source from almost 500 Irish food and drink suppliers, in turn supporting almost 14,000 Irish farm families. All of the fresh beef, pork, lamb and eggs that Tesco Ireland sells are 100% Irish. In Ireland and internationally, we provide opportunities to get on, with diverse careers spanning retail stores, head office and our distribution centres. Everyone is welcome at Tesco - whoever you are, wherever you work, and whatever you do.

  •  🚛🌿 Electric News from Tesco Bloomfields! 🌿🚛 Grocery Home Delivery from our Bloomfields store in Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin is now fully electric! ⚡️ We've just added 6 brand new electric vehicles (EVs) to our fleet, bringing the total to 7 EVs delivering groceries to homes across South County Dublin. From this week, hundreds of households in Dún Laoghaire will receive their shopping via our all-electric delivery vehicles. 🚚💨 This is a significant step towards our goal of being carbon neutral across our own operations by 2035. Our new electric fleet will cover over 2000 kms of deliveries every week. Each van, when fully charged, has a range of 160 kilometers and takes just 3-4 hours to charge. Plus, they're powered by 100% renewable energy from our dedicated charging station at Bloomfields Shopping Centre. 🌍🔋 We're proud to be making strides towards a greener future and providing sustainable delivery options for our community. 🌱 Alan Reville

  • Internet Safety Day with Tesco Mobile Ireland 📱   Today is Safer Internet Day and we’re proud to share a special guide we have developed in consultation with CyberSafeKids Ireland, packed with helpful tips for encouraging a healthy digital environment for young people. Here are just a few of our top tips: 🗣️Encourage ongoing conversations about online activity — without judgement. 📃Set clear rules and time limits for using devices and stick to them. For example, no unsupervised phone usage in bedrooms. 🎮 Keep smart devices (like laptops, phones, and gaming consoles) downstairs when charging overnight. 💻Use devices in open, shared spaces only rather than behind closed doors. 🎛️ Use technical restrictions (such as parental controls) but don’t rely on them alone, especially when expectations of privacy increase. 🎊 Model good online behaviour and promote healthy screen-time habits.   All of our in store TMI colleagues have been trained on cyber safety controls by the team at Cyber Safe Kids Ireland, so feel free to ask for advice, and keep an eye out for our helpful leaflets in our 50 phone shops across the country, which include a QR code for more information to help keep young people safe and healthy online. https://lnkd.in/e5Vii_Nf

  • We’re getting 2025 started with a €48,000 stand-alone donation to our charity partner Children's Health Foundation. The money will be used to complete the fundraising for a new Infant Care Station in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit in Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin. This Infant Care Station will allow for the safe and easy transport of patients around the hospital, as they move around wards, ICU and operating theatres. We look forward to seeing the impact it has on the hospital. We are proud to have been a charity partner of Children’s Health Foundation for a decade now, and in that time, alongside our generous customers and colleagues, we have raised €10.5 million to support sick children across Ireland.

We’re looking forward for what’s to come in 2025!

To help support children and families across Ireland bridge the holiday hunger gap this Christmas, we’re announcing €350,000 worth of food for those most in need.  Working with the Family Resource Centre National Forum, FoodCloud, and the Children's Rights Alliance, over 145 community organisations will receive vital food donations which will make their way to thousands of homes nationwide this week. A massive €283,000 worth of products was donated by colleagues and customers who once again engaged with our Annual Christmas Food Appeal both instore and online. We are also proud to be topping up this donation by 20% this year, as well as giving a donation to the Children’s Rights Alliance appeal, meaning more than €350,000 worth of products will be donated in total. Last Friday, while the children of Ireland got excited about this year’s coolest toys and books (and Patrick Kielty's Christmas tree outfit!), we proudly donated €100,000 to the RTE Late Late Toy Show Appeal to help make children’s lives better. 🎁✨ This donation reflects our commitment to champion children’s health in Ireland, complementing our Stronger Starts and Community Fund programmes and our charity partnership with Children's Health Foundation. We can’t wait to see what organisations the appeal helps, with the support of the Community Foundation Ireland, to give children across Ireland a stronger start in life.
