  • We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our talented students who won a total of 5 awards at this years BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition (BTYSTE)!   Shaunak Mohapatra's project on using machine learning for non-invasive neural semantic decoding won the AMD Award and also first prize in the individual Senior Technology category. Conor O'Neill and Alexander Vysotski's group project 'Enhancing adaptive learning in AI through tactile feedback in dynamic environments' won the Meta Award and also first prize in the group Senior Technology category.   Well done also to Joel Emmanuel who received interest from Met Éireann for his project on measuring hurricane intensity using storm surge and rainfall as additional factors, and to Mia who won a prize for her display in her first year at the exhibition.   Special thanks to Catriona Hendry for supporting all of our students with their projects. Congratulations once again to all the winners and participants for all their hard work and dedication!

  • On Monday, 6th January, a group of our colleagues attended the annual Dukes Education Conference at the iconic Wembley Stadium. This year’s theme, “The Heart of Education”, brought together colleagues from over 60 settings across the UK and Europe to celebrate innovation, collaboration, and excellence in education.   We are incredibly proud to share that our Principal, Yvonne O’Toole, received the prestigious “Head Prefect/Employee of the Year” award for the entire Dukes organisation! This award, presented by Dukes Education Founder Aatif Hassan, is a testament to Yvonne’s outstanding leadership and dedication to the students of The Institute of Education. Congratulations Yvonne, this recognition is truly well-deserved!

  • At The Institute of Education, we have always championed our female students in breaking down traditional barriers in the Irish education system to study STEM subjects and pursue careers in STEM. We are delighted that our students were selected this year to meet with Taoiseach Simon Harris at the latest I Wish community event. I Wish is a community that is committed to showcasing the power of STEM to young girls through interactive workshops and activities. We are proud to see our 4th year students getting involved and learning about the world of STEM! Images: Naoise Culhane
