At Mackin, we’re dedicated to supporting our employees’ volunteer efforts, and we’re incredibly proud to highlight the remarkable work of our US Accounts Administrator, Brandy Blanton. Based in Greenhill, NC, Brandy has volunteered at her local fire department for over 20 years as an Advanced EMT, Firefighter, and member of the board of directors. In September, when Hurricane Helene struck North Carolina with devastating force, Brandy’s department became a vital staging area for emergency services. With roads blocked by fallen trees and powerlines, Brandy worked relentlessly alongside emergency responders, helping with evacuations, medical emergencies, and coordinating resources amidst a massive shortage. Despite several days of isolation and only limited communication, she and her team pushed through, providing critical support to surrounding communities. Some mornings Brandy would get up at 4:30am to cook for fellow first responders, as well as assisting in evacuation calls throughout the day. Another of our Mackin Employees who lives in the Greenhill area, Heather Martinez, was evacuated by Brandy’s team when the possibility of a dam failure in the region became imminent. Since returning home safely after the Hurricane, Heather has also done some amazing work with close friends and community members who have been impacted by this disaster.   Brandy and Heather’s resilience and dedication are a powerful reminder of the ongoing work needed to rebuild after a disaster. 🌍✨ Highlights from Our Global Offsite in Ireland! 🍀 What an incredible few days we had last week at our global HQ in Cork, Ireland for our company-wide reunion! Bringing together teams from across the world, this Ireland visit was filled with inspiration, collaboration, and celebration. Barry, FCIPD, from Conexion.ie®, for their wonderful sessions. ✅ A Day at the The Montenotte Hotel – We enjoyed a scenic escape and a private dinner with an exclusive film screening. Unforgettable! ✅ Exploring Blarney Castle – A bit of Irish history and culture, and of course, the legendary Blarney Stone🍀 And the fun has continued in the evenings as we met up during the week for a few drinks in bars around Cork City, including Costigans, Dwyers, and Goldbergs.
