🔎 Case Study Spotlight ℹ️ PTALs – National Transport Authority - Using Data to Improve Public Transport Accessibility Our sister company Compass Informatics, has a long-standing relationship with the NTA and was tasked with applying the PTALs model to the greater Dublin area using the NTA’s local proprietary data. ➡️ What are PTALs?  Public Transport Accessibility Levels (PTALs) is a methodology that accurately measures the accessibility of a location to public transport. By considering factors such as walking time, service reliability, frequency, and waiting times, PTALs provides valuable insights for urban planning and transportation decision-making. Compass's scalable solution ensures future adaptability and flexibility, allowing for the incorporation of additional variables and parameters in the PTALs index calculation. By bringing this powerful tool to Dublin, Compass Informatics and the NTA are unlocking new insights to inform urban planning and improve connectivity across the region. Track vehicle movements, speeds, and congestion in real-time, gaining valuable insights into patterns like origin-destination flows, parking behaviour, and traffic violations. These data-driven insights empower smarter decisions to optimise traffic flow, enhance urban planning, and improve air quality. Our technology supports regulatory bodies in tracking vehicle compliance with emissions standards, licensing requirements, and toll payment obligations. Tracsis were commissioned to undertake the largest parking survey of its kind, covering approximately 400km of kerbside distance across the Boroughs 7 Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ) in Croydon. Croydon Council needed to understand the current supply and demand profile of parking provision and to understand the changes & impacts over the next 5 years, so that a balanced approach can be applied to deliver adequate provision.
