It is fantastic to see the launch of Belonging at UCC: A Strategic Framework and Action Plan for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion 2025-2028 at The Hub earlier this week, a hugely important milestone for the university 👏 UCC Academy was delighted to assist in this body of work through graphic design support from our Creative Lead, Jonathan Leahy Maharaj.
Today was a special day as we launched Belonging at UCC: A Strategic Framework and Action Plan for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion 2025-2028. Thank you to the 1600+ staff and 1500+ students whose feedback informed this important roadmap for EDI here at UCC. Over 80 colleagues and students inputted to this document and it is apt that the cover art is the rainbow murmuration created together by our staff and students at the 2024 Cork Pride celebration. Thank you President John O'Halloran for launching this Framework and affirming the university’s commitment to the important programme of work. It was also wonderful to hear from Student Union representative Hayley O’ Connell Vaughn on why EDI matters to students. The richness of our community was further reflected by staff network and student representatives who shared their perspectives on belonging and inclusion as gaeilge and through ISL. We were reminded how far we have come and how much there is still to do. We closed by celebrating new beginnings through an inspiring dance performance by our students. The University College Cork community helped shape and are responsible for taking this EDI Framework and Action Plan forward. We look forward to continuing to work together to ensure our university is a space where everyone feels they belong and can thrive. Thank you sincerely to everyone involved for your support and valuable contributions. Diwali is the five-day Festival of Lights, celebrated by millions of Hindus around the world. People celebrate Diwali by lighting up their homes and streets with diyas (an oil lamp made from clay) and candles, dressing up in new clothes, exchanging gifts, and enjoying traditional food. 🎉 To all our colleagues and friends celebrating, we wish you a Happy Diwali🕯 #Diwali #Diwalicelebrations #WeAreUCCAcademy

Fantastic to see this wonderful facility at UCC enabling increased accessibility and outreach. 👏
Have you heard about Ireland's first state-of-the-art science studio? 🎥 Kane Science Studio at University College Cork offers an advanced educational resource with smart 4K cameras, a soundproof room, and inclusive, accessible workstations for premium content creation.
