Congratulations SarahJane Hughes 👏
Yesterday, I had the incredible honour of showcasing my app, Ascert Pro, as a finalist at the Siemens Innovative Student Engineer of the Year Award, in collaboration with Engineers Ireland! 👷🏻♀️ Ascert Pro is designed to streamline the inspection process for the entire construction industry, bringing efficiency, accuracy, and sustainability to a sector that’s ready for innovation. It was a privilege to present this project at Engineers Ireland’s Clyde Road, a space known for its rich engineering history. ✨ Being a finalist was such an honour, especially standing alongside other innovators like previous winners Patrick Byrnes of Croom Medical and John Mulvihill, Professor of Biomedical Engineering at UL. The opportunity to share my vision was incredible, and the feedback I received will be invaluable as I continue developing Ascert Pro. 🙏 A huge thank you to the judges— Joe Walsh, Niamh Hegarty, Krystyna Dimtchev, and Dave Ludgate — for their insights and support throughout the event! 🎉 Congratulations to all the finalists and a special mention to this year’s winners— Rachel O’Dell, Muirne McCarthy, Mary Carey, and Ella Murphy — for their brilliant achievement with Pilot by Precision Path Medical! It was lovely to meet you all. ⚙️ I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Brady Hughes Consulting for their incredible support and collaboration throughout this project. Your guidance has been essential in shaping Ascert Pro, and I’m grateful for the chance to work closely with such a dedicated and knowledgeable team. 💯 It meant so much to have my family and friends there, and I’m so grateful to everyone at University of Galway IdeasLab for their incredible support over the last two weeks, Neil Ferguson Caoimhe Walsh Andrea Fassbender Jenny Mullery. Representing the University of Galway at this prestigious event was a true highlight. Here’s to innovation, progress, and making a difference! 🚀🏗️ #Innovation #ConstructionTech #Engineering #ProudToRepresent #AscertPro #EngineersIreland #Siemens #StudentEngineer #UniversityOfGalway #IdeasLab
