Look at the amazing reel created by the teachers and students at Coláiste Nano Nagle highlighting their visit to 'SUPERHUMAN' at the Galway City Museum as part of the Galway Science and Technology Festival! The Junior Cycle students learned about living with diabetes as part of our Research Ireland Discover 'Empathy Detectives' project. The workshops were created by people living with diabetes, carers of people with diabetes, and researchers from University of Galway within CÚRAM, University of Galway IdeasLab and PPI Ignite Network @ University of Galway.

One of the best things about my role is hearing the stories of how our programmes have impacted students' lives and discovering the opportunities and experiences that have opened up to them as a result. University of Galway IdeasLab published its first impact report this week and it has been fascinating to look back and appreciate the work that has been done. 🎆 The most enjoyable part of working on the report was meeting up with some of our students to hear their stories. A special thank you to Claudine Mulihano, Damien Delaney, Ethan O'Brien, SarahJane Hughes, Ciarán Cox and Elizabeth Busari for taking the time to sit down and share their stories. A limited amount of space unfortunately meant we could not include everything, but reading these stories was evidence of the true purpose and power of #IdeasLab.🔥 The other great joy in producing a report like this is endlessly discussing font sizes, changing our minds about photos and deciding to change the cover completely… 🤭 so a huge amount of thanks goes to Caoimhe Walsh, who did the design, for having the patience of a saint! I have only been with IdeasLab a year and a half and am immensely proud of it, and have great admiration for the team who have developed it and kept it all rolling for the last four years - Natalie Walsh (Ph.D), Neil Ferguson and Jenny Mullery 👏 👏 #IdeasLabImpact #IdeasInAction

The scholarship is funded through the generous philanthropic support of the The Liffey Trust Enterprise Centre and is open to First Year undergraduate students registered at the University of Galway. The scholarship value is €9,000 for the duration of their studies at the University. The deadline for applications is 6 December 2024.
