This week marked a significant milestone for 20FIFTY PARTNERS and Water Stewardship UK as we hosted our first in-person Community of Practice event at the University of Leeds, delivered with the support of MOSL and the Market Improvement Fund. Together with Business Stream, Yorkshire Water, and a cross-sectoral group of industry leaders, the meeting explored how the community could identify and implement practical strategies to advance water stewardship across UK in response to existing and emerging water challenges.   The event featured:  💡 A discussion on the potential role for a Water Stewardship UK Community of Practice to drive collaboration and deliver impact across the water sector 💡 Speakers including the following who shared tangible examples of the impact of water stewardship: Ken Stockil, Steve Brown, Colm Gaskin, Stephen Sheridan, Mitchell Yeoman-Boldry, Matthew Rix, Emma Rattigan, Aideen Butler, Declan Gaughan 💡 A series of workshops identifying the drivers, challenges and opportunities in adopting water stewardship to support business resilience 💡 Industry insights on emerging best practice in water stewardship    We’re excited to continue this journey into 2025, building the community, providing a platform for industry leaders to share emerging insights, and champion collaborative action for water stewardship.    #WaterStewardship #Sustainability #Collaboration #watermanagement #waterconservation #MarketImprovementFund

We are delighted to be running our first Water Stewardship Community of Practice (CoP) event in the UK tomorrow!

We had a very productive and informative workshop this week with Bank of Ireland IT Centre as part of the Uisce Éireann Irish Water “Water Stewardship Accelerator Programme” which aims to foster water resilience and sustainability among businesses in Ireland. The engineering team are working on reducing water use as part of their overall carbon reduction and Scope 3 emissions for CSRD reporting. We discussed the role of water stewardship, explored some risks and opportunities, and developed an action plan for their sites. We really enjoyed being a part of to the Environment Ireland conference in Croke Park yesterday! This event featured a variety of focused sessions addressing critical environmental issues. Head of Programmes and Advisory at 20FIFTY PARTNERS, Paul Conheady, presented on Our Collaborative Journey Towards Better Water Stewardship. This explored how the public and private sectors in Ireland collaborate at national, regional, and catchment levels to tackle shared water challenges, along with providing practical support available to businesses through Water Stewardship Ireland. We had a very productive and informative workshop this week with Mondelēz International Ireland as part of the Uisce Éireann Irish Water “Water Stewardship Accelerator Programme” which aims to foster water resilience and sustainability among businesses in Ireland. The team at Mondelez is implementing water-saving initiatives in areas with high water usage, where water is vital both as a product ingredient and for cleaning. To support their corporate sustainability goals, the site is exploring water metering and adopting water-saving technologies to improve efficiency in their production processes. We discussed these efforts within the broader context of water stewardship and how they contribute to addressing shared water challenges in the Dublin area. We had a very productive and enjoyable workshop this week with Britvic Ireland as part of the Uisce Éireann Irish Water "Water Stewardship Accelerator Workshop" series to foster water resilience and sustainability among large organisations in Ireland. As a drinks business, water is critical to Britvic plc as a key output, but also as a process input and they can have particular challenges with water stresses in their local area from time to time. We discussed the role of water stewardship to help resolve this issue and help address shared water challenges in the Dublin area. We have just recently completed a series of Uisce Éireann Irish Water Accelerator Workshops for Water Stewardship with the CIE Group. The team there are working to deliver water saving initiatives in areas of high water usage as they rely heavily on water for daily operations, particularly for vehicle maintenance and washing. They are working on the installation of smart meters and installing water saving technologies to allow water use more efficiently across operations.
