Role Overview

This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated, proactive and energetic qualified accountant to join a rapidly growing technology business within the Finance team as a full-time remote member.


Reporting directly to the Regional Finance Director in EMEA, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for the initial preparation of general accounting and financial reporting activities for assigned entities in EMEA, including journal entries, reconciliations, statutory reporting, compliance and other ad-hoc activities. Great scope to grow and develop.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage & ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting data in the company’s ERP system for legal entities in EMEA.
  • Work closely with local accounting firms to prepare and file VAT, CT and other tax returns.
  • Collaborate with warehouse team to conduct quarterly inventory counts.
  • Complete monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and review reconciliations for smaller entities.
  • Collaborate with local accounting firms for the preparation of financial statements and local book reconciliations to the company’s ERP system.
  • Plan and lead external statutory audits and collaborate with Audit Director and Finance Director to ensure timelines are met.
  • Ensure adherence of processes to company's policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements and local rules and regulations; support strengthening of financial processes and controls and continuous process improvement.
  • Provide accounting support to other departments within Sycomp.
  • Provide support for the Budget process.


Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant or recently Qualified Accountant /Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferably with a multinational corporation background.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Must have minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Excellent Excel skills required and experience of MS Office software packages.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Confident in ability to communicate effectively with Senior Members of the team.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi geographical team in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work alone to understand and summarise financial data into high quality, accurate and usable summaries.
  • Good analytical skills and close attention to detail.
  • Can do attitude.
