At AISAP, we’re reminded every day why we do what we do. Just this weekend, a 60-year-old woman with metastatic malignancy was admitted to the ER with weakness and shortness of breath, initially attributed to her anemia and malignancy.  During a Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) scan, powered by AISAP’s advanced diagnostic platform, her doctor detected a reduced left ventricular systolic function, quickly assessed her ejection fraction (LVEF) and valves in just minutes. The diagnosis was clear and actionable. By the next morning, the patient had undergone catheterization and received two life-saving stents. In emergency medicine, time and accuracy are everything ⏳ A 64-year-old woman with cardiovascular risk factors (diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, OSA) with no known cardiac background was admitted to the emergency room due to suspected pneumonia. In addition, upon her admission, the laboratory troponin was borderline, initially attributed to a type 2 MI in the absence of anginal symptoms. AISAP-enhanced POCUS was performed upon admission, revealing critical findings: moderate MR, segmental systolic dysfunction with an LVEF of 45%, and mild AR and TR. These findings prompted immediate angiography and PCI, ultimately confirmed by a formal echocardiogram, changing the course of treatment and saving crucial time. This case highlights how AI-powered POCUS can impact bedside cardiac care, empowering clinicians with real-time, life-saving insights in emergency departments.
