Highlighting Clalit Health Services' revolution in personalized medicine at the 57th Annual European Human Genetics Conference (EHGC)! Our team inspired the international participants at EHGC, showcasing groundbreaking achievements in genetic data analysis and how we're enabling faster diagnoses and more personalized treatment plans. Rotem Greenberg, Head of Clinical Genetics at Clalit Innovation, presented two projects focused on BRCA screening. The first, funded by MBR, demonstrated how motivational messages can enhance patients' adherence to BRCA screening. The second, 'Good Genes' Association, involved women who tested positive for BRCA mutations, highlighting the importance of the timing and method of delivering test results, whether by phone or in person. In addition Dr. Ofer Isakov and Dr. Dina Yagel presented the platform developed at Clalit's Genomic Center under The Ivan and Francesca Berkowitz Family Living Laboratory and the cutting-edge approach for analyzing genetic panel tests, which they have presented last week. The feedback and interest from the audience were amazing. In our world, knowledge sharing is everything for a better future in healthcare, and we are honored to have the opportunity to present our groundbreaking findings and achievements! #genetics #geneticresearch #geneticinnocation #humangenetics #BRCA #BRCAscreening #knowledgesharing #healthinnovation #healthtech #medtech

Clalit Innovation is responsible for the innovative use of Clalit's unique data and knowhow resources for improving the health and healthcare of its 4 million members. Clalit is the largest healthcare organization in Israel, and a global leader in implementing innovative strategies to tackle chronic illnesses. The research Institute comprises of professionals of multidisciplinary qualifications – top notch clinicians, epidemiologists, biostatisticians, IT experts, algorithm specialists and public health experts. Many of the institute associates are qualified in two or three of these disciplines, and have gained invaluable experience in mining and interpreting the organizational 'big-data' clinical (EMR-based) and administrative databases, that have been accumulating for almost two decades. The institute is augmented by its affiliates - leading clinicians from Clalit's 8 districts and 14 public hospitals that initiate and perform advanced studies with the support of the institute. The institute has focused in creating data-driven tools for enabling, supporting and assessing innovative clinical interventions to tackle key health and healthcare issues. These include including measuring and tackling inadequate treatment adherence, assessing and tackling the impact of NCDs and multi-morbidity, using predictive modeling and advanced analytics in the point of practice to allow targeted care in high risk groups, and comparative effectiveness real-life studies.

Early diagnosis of colorectal cancer (CRC) is crucial for improving survival rates. Our team at Clalit Research Institute has developed a groundbreaking risk prediction model using electronic health records (EHR) to identify individuals at high risk for CRC! In the study, we focused on creating a risk prediction model based on EHR data from Clalit Health Services members aged 50-74 who were eligible for CRC screening from 2013 to 2019. The study utilized EHR data from 1.13 million subjects, including 2,935 with CRC diagnoses. Our key findings revealed that subjects in the top 1% risk scores had significantly higher CRC incidence (2.3% compared to a 0.3% baseline). Additionally, model-based risk stratification, when combined with a positive FOBT, identified subjects with over twice the CRC risk compared to using FOBT alone. Outstanding results! In conclusion, our individualized risk prediction model is a powerful decision support tool. It helps healthcare providers identify and refer high-risk individuals for confirmatory testing, ultimately improving CRC diagnosis and survival rates. Unlocking Personalized Medicine! Clalit Health Services highlighted the revolutionary impact of genetics on patient care at the Israeli Association of Geneticists' Annual Conference. Our team unveiled a groundbreaking platform that streamlines genetic data analysis, paving the way for faster diagnoses and more personalized treatment plans. Dr. Ofer Isakov's platform, developed at Clalit's genomic center under The Ivan and Francesca Berkowitz Family Living Laboratory, empowers patients and providers by enabling them to easily search, compare, and create customized gene lists. This innovation has the potential to significantly reduce diagnosis times and lead to more targeted treatments. Dr. Dina Yagel also presented a cutting-edge approach for analyzing genetic panel tests, developed at Clalit's genomic center. This approach ensures clear and consistent reporting of genetic test results, empowering patients to better understand their health and take an active role in their healthcare decisions. It was a remarkable day of knowledge sharing and exploring innovations with the genetics community. Until next time! #personalizedmedicine #genetics #healthtech #medtech #clalithealth
