Please welcome David Schofield, Regional Sales Manager for Northern UK & Ireland, at Kramer EMEA 🎉 - Tell us a bit about yourself “My name is David Schofield, and I have been in the AV industry for 31 years. I started off as a video, sound, and light engineer and then finally as the branch hire manager. I then helped form a new Systems Integration company and headed up the installation and support teams, while also being a project manager, pre-technical sales advisor, and, when required, an installation engineer. Following a company buy-out, I was lucky enough to get a job with Kramer.” - How long have you been working at Kramer? “Just over 10 years now.” - What was your college major? “Electrical and Electronic Engineering.” - Describe your job in a sentence. “I am the Regional Sales Manager for Kramer UK, serving customers in the northern and Northwest of the UK and Northern and Southern Ireland. My role involves developing AV solutions, conducting product demonstrations, and providing training.” - What do you do in your free time? “I’ve been training for 35 years in martial arts and have attained a 6th Degree Black Belt in Kickboxing and a 3rd Degree Black Sash in Lau Gar Kung Fu. I’ve also been a World, European and British Heavyweight Champion and competed globally. Now, I enjoy passing on my knowledge and experience to the next generation and have a squad of young fighters who are now World Champions in their own right.” - What book, TV series, or movie do you recommend? “Book – ‘Killing Floor’ by Lee Child. TV series – ‘Vikings’. Movie – ‘Planes, Trains and Automobiles’.” - What did you learn while working at Kramer? “People buy from people. It doesn’t matter how well you know the product or how good the product is; if you don’t have a relationship with the customer, there’s a much greater chance that they will turn to someone else that they do know.” - What is a motivational quote you live by, or think of often? “Practice doesn’t make perfect.
