From Field Service Engineer to EMEA Technical Manager – this is Martin Steinborn’s Lumenis Career Journey!   Martin joined Lumenis in 2005 and was initially responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of medical laser and IPL devices in EMEA as a Field Service Engineer. His knowledge and expertise led him to become the EMEA Distributor Technical Support Expert, servicing the Lumenis distribution network with both on-site visits and remote technical support via phone calls, emails, and videos.   His deep understanding of the Lumenis product portfolio, combined with his dedication to empowering others and sharing knowledge, meant he soon took on the roles of Technical Trainer in EMEA and Laser Safety Officer, providing training for Lumenis' laser products and conducting mandatory laser safety courses in Germany. In addition, Martin serves as the Site Quality Manager, where he handles ISO and regulatory issues.   Martin is now the EMEA Technical Manager, where he supports the unique needs of customers and distribution partners located throughout EMEA, a diverse region with different languages, cultures, and product portfolios. Even with his many responsibilities, Martin finds time for his photography hobby, often capturing 'behind the scenes' moments of his trainings or the intricate beauty and complexity of Lumenis' systems.   Martin's advice for success? From retail to Regional Sales Manager - Audrey Eberth’s #Lumeniscareerjourney!   Audrey joined Lumenis at the end of 2017 with a background in telecom and retail sales. She wanted to break into the medical device industry, a field she knew to be both challenging and lucrative. Her determination and ambition led her to secure a position as an Area Sales Manager with Lumenis in Boston, where she quickly learned the ropes of selling both surgical and vision systems.    Her hard work and dedication paid off, being promoted to Senior Area Sales Manager and then to Regional Sales Manager–Vision East. Today, she oversees a large team and manages a vast territory from Virginia to Toronto.   She credits the leadership team at Lumenis for continuously challenging her to grow, investing in her professional development, and giving her additional responsibilities that pushed her to be her best self, wearing many different hats along the way. Most importantly, Audrey has opportunities for her voice to be heard, allowing her to influence and shape the organization in positive ways. After seven years in the field, she stays motivated by the real impact she and her team help providers make in people’s lives with Lumenis' vision solutions.   Audrey's advice for new reps? From the production floor to Quality Assurance Department - Yahav Mizrachi's Lumenis career journey!   Yahav joined Lumenis in 2018 after a childhood friend let him know about an open production position in the CO2 system department. He had experience working in a local factory and was interested in progressing to the production of more complex machines.   While producing and conducting final testing on various accessories and systems, Yahav was also able to study and eventually complete a CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) course. Yahav steadily worked toward his goal of applying his new knowledge and skills in the Quality Assurance department, and with the help of a supportive manager and HR, he transitioned to QA as a Junior Operation Quality Engineer in September 2021.   He says that his passion for Quality Assurance comes from his perfectionist personality: “The role of Quality Assurance is to consistently improve, to do everything possible to make sure that our customers receive products that can be used safely and effectively to achieve the best clinical results. The work we do in the QA Department helps make that happen.”   Even after a few years in the role, Yahav says it’s still exciting and interesting. “Every day I’m learning something new - it’s a very wide field, and I am always asking questions, consulting with my team, and gaining new expertise. #LumenisCareerJourney #EmployeeSpotlight #BeautyTechforLife

This International Women’s Day, women from Lumenis' headquarters stepped into the classroom to #inspireinclusion by sharing their personal and professional journeys with high school students.   The initiative, which took place during the annual Israeli Girls’ Week, is part of our on-going collaboration with Shavot - שוות-, an association that promotes positive self-esteem and a sense of competence among girls.   Volunteers from various departments within Lumenis gave lectures on topics ranging from responsible use of AI technology to tips on building a personal brand. Several presentations touched on the issue of girl participation in science, technology, engineering & math (STEM). The students were a great audience and asked lots of interesting and challenging questions! Thank you to our hosts at ORT Yokneam - Shimon Peres High School and to all our volunteers for spending the day with the next generation of leaders and innovators building an inclusive environment of equality and empowerment. Lumenis is proud to announce our partnership with the Shavot - שוות organization. Shavot, the Hebrew word for ‘equal,’ is a grassroots leadership and mentoring program that promotes positive self-esteem and a sense of competence among girls in Israel.   In the same week that recognized the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Lumenis invited nearly 40 high schoolers to our headquarters to promote the issue of girl participation in science, technology, engineering & math (STEM). The students received an introduction to Lumenis by VP Ayelet Barneah Alsheich, a tour of our R&D facilities, and a panel discussion with managers from our IT, Engineering, Data & Digital, R&D, and HR departments.   Earlier this month, we had the honor to kick off this partnership by participating in the #IAmRemarkable workshop by Google Cloud group of our talented women, all volunteers in our Shavot activities, had the opportunity to spend the morning focusing on enhancing self-promotion skills and challenging societal norms related to self-promotion. Their engagement and insights were a testament to the initiative's importance in fostering self-recognition and confidence in the workplace. Thank you Tal Zadik Shanny and Ada Aharoni for inviting us and providing this special opportunity to reflect and invest in our personal and professional growth!   As we look ahead, Lumenis is excited about the many collaborative activities planned with Shavot - שוות in the coming year.
