Today marks the start of our two day Israel Education conference in Toronto, generously supported by the UJA Federation of Greater Toronto and the Maimonides Fund and in partnership with Prizmah, The Jewish Education Project and The Weisfeld Family Foundation! Over 100 educators are attending the conference which is focused on navigating Israel education during times of conflict and aims to provide educators with essential theoretical and practical tools to bring education about Israel and Zionism to life for their students.

We’re extremely grateful and honored to have been awarded a Signature Grant from The Covenant Foundation to support Unpacked Jr., our educational initiative that aims to provide elementary school-aged children with the tools to understand and connect with Israel in an accessible and engaging format. This is accompanied by a full curriculum, developed by our Unpacked for Educators division, which is currently being piloted in selected schools. When Israel and Lebanon agreed to a ceasefire in November, one of the conditions was that Israel would withdraw from Lebanon within 60 days. The deadline for that withdrawal – January 26 – is just over two weeks away, but Israeli officials are now saying that the IDF may need to stay longer.
