Last week we welcomed the second Los Angeles cohort of our UNPACKED Leadership Fellowship, a year-long program for high school juniors and seniors, aimed at developing a nuanced understanding of Israel. Yoni Buckman from the Unpacked for Educators team conducted an intro session with the fellows focusing on a crash course in Zionism, helping participants understand this topic in a new light. This sparked lively discussions where fellows had the opportunity to respectfully share their unique perspectives with one another. Participants in the UNPACKED Leadership Fellowship will attend six in-person learning sessions throughout the year, with UNPACKED’s educator team and other experts and influencers in Israeli history, culture, and current events. Topics will include: 💡 Exploring Israel’s history and its defining moments 💡 Understanding Zionism and its relevance today 💡 Addressing antisemitism on social media and in everyday interactions 💡 Diverse perspectives to foster a deeper understanding of Israel
