Bazan Group Presents its 2023 ESG Report: A Combination of Innovation and Mutual Responsibility
Over the past year, and particularly in response to the challenges posed by the war, Bazan has worked tirelessly to support communities, enhance environmental performance, and drive technological innovation. The 2023 ESG Report highlights Bazan Group’s notable achievements in the areas of environment, society, and corporate governance (ESG), as well as its ambitious goals for the future.
▪️ Commitment to Community: Over NIS 30 million was allocated to support war victims and southern residents, including the adoption of Kibbutz Nachal Oz, which suffered severe damage during the October 7th attacks.
▪️Emission and Waste Reduction: 84% reduction in benzene emissions since 2018, a 26% decrease in hazardous waste compared to last year, and 52% reduction since 2016.
▪️ Environmental Innovation: Launch of Israel’s first hydrogen fuel station, development of green diesel from used cooking oil, and projects promoting alternative and renewable energy sources.
▪️ Gender Diversity and Inclusion: Women now make up 40% of the Group’s senior management, alongside initiatives for integrating employees with disabilities and advancing gender diversity in the industry.
▪️ Economic Impact: In 2023, Bazan contributed approximately NIS 8.1 billion to Israel’s GDP and directly and indirectly employed around 15,800 individuals.
