Platform Engineering Is (Finally) Here in North America: We met so many people whose job title just switched to "Platform Engineer." It felt like KubeCon Europe all over again. But is this just a naming change? We don't think so! Team roadmaps are changing along with the title. 2. Developer Experience is No Longer Optional: It’s clearer than ever: tossing developers into Kubernetes or OpenShift and hoping they swim isn’t working. Now, the focus is on making life easier for developers, from the moment they deploy to the moment they get pinged a 3AM to solve a production issue. 3. Goodbye Backstage, Hello AI Assistants: A year ago, everyone seemed to be betting on Backstage-based internal dev platforms (IDPs). This year? Not so much. A lot of teams struggled with adoption, and the hype didn’t always match value. Now, the excitement has moved toward AI assistants, but this time it's different.
