TL;DR: Graph-like thinking is great, but unless you have very deep network questions, PostgreSQL or similar might be your best bet. At Sightfull, we switched from AWS Neptune to PostgreSQL for our business analytics software. (CAC) 🔄 What is the value of each customer we acquire? what is our average customer lifetime value (CLTV)? the total amount of revenue we can expect from each new customer 🌦️ What’s our forecast? How much will we close this quarter / year? based on existing pipeline and historic conversion rates or activities, probabilities, signals like security review or any of a dozen different business heuristics and models in the end, what’s our number? Have answers to these questions and you’re golden!

    Predictable revenue isn’t magic, it’s ARR Let's break down this popular KPI: The ARR (Annualized Recurring Revenue) metric answers the question: “How much revenue do we expect to generate in the next 12 months our existing customer base?” For SaaS companies, ARR is THE key performance indicator to get right. Accurately calculating it lay down the foundation for all other revenue reporting and analytics is built. It's critical for running subscription-businesses. Calculating your ARR can be as simple as summing up the annualized recurring revenue of customer contracts: ARR = Total Contract Value (recurring component only) / (Contract Term in months / 12) For example, if you have a contract for recurring payments worth $30,000 over 24 months: $30,000 / (24 months / 12) = $15,000 ARR ...but in reality it's typically a lot more complex. Ramped deals, multiple products, discounts, one-off components and other nuances can make it challenging. However complicated, the importance of the metric means it's worth investing in calculating properly (rather than trying to work out manually every quarter).
