COLD AND CALCULATED Bear with me: An average weight of a pink salmon fish (the most common type of farmed salmon) = 4Kg (official source in the comments below) 4Kg of Salmon fish = 1Kg of smoked salmon (same source) 1Kg of smoked Spirulina salmon = 300g of texturized Spirulina 300g of smoked Spirulina salmon = 5 smoked Spirulina Salmon sandwiches The largest coffee shop franchise in Israel sells over 1.7M smoked salmon sandwiches per year (around 180 locations), which equals 340,000Kg of pink salmon OR 85,000 fish - an equivalent of 1-3 modern fish cages. Even before calculating carbon footprints and collateral environmental and health damages, our product is around 4 times less wasteful than salmon. That is X4 more sustainable. AT LEAST. Service and HORECA sector is the first real market test we are targeting with our upcoming launch next year, which will probably be the first of many. Modification to CPG packaging and retail will soon follow. Our plant-based alternative tastes incredible (some say even better than the real thing), easier to bite through (you won't be left with an empty sandwich on you second bite...), cleaner, more nutritious, and immensely more sustainable than the real fish. If that is not impact, I can't tell what is...
