    ❌ Giving Tuesday is not a reason for a donor to give. ❌ Your campaign goal of $10,000 or $100,000 or $1,000,000 is not a reason for a donor to give. ❌ Your budget is not a reason for a donor to give. ✅ The IMPACT a donor will make to solve the problem that your organization addresses... THAT is a reason to give. If you run a Giving Tuesday campaign or an end-of-year campaign, make your pitch around DONOR IMPACT, not around hype or your organization's needs.     𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲-𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗱𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴. Crowdfunding campaigns are often short and intense—24 - 72 hours. To increase the odds of success we need to keep the motivation of our ambassadors high. How can we #FundraisingLeadership maintain that? Dan Ariely's experiment highlights how powerful acknowledgment is when motivating people. He conducted a study with three groups of students who had to perform a repetitive task. Group 1 received acknowledgment for their work, Group 2 received none, and Group 3 saw their work shredded right in front of them. The results - Group 1 kept working regardless of the reward. But those who had their work ignored or destroyed stopped much earlier. People thrive on recognition and purpose, when ignored motivation is demotivated or even destroyed. In crowdfunding, motivation isn’t just nice to have—it’s essential. Your ambassadors need to feel appreciated by you and connected to the mission. If they lose that in a 48-hour campaign, they won’t just slow down—they will stop altogether. Motivation doesn’t have to be hard. Regular check-ins, personal messages, or celebrating small wins can make a huge difference in keeping your team engaged.
