For decades, venture capital has been laser-focused on software—high margins, scalability, and rapid adoption made it the holy grail of tech investing. But with AI rapidly automating software development, the question is: where do defensible moats exist? In his latest blog, Yonatan Mandelbaum explores an evolving thesis on the intersection of #AI and #hardware—where intelligence meets physical innovation. From AI-powered robotics to next-gen compute and defense tech, we see a massive opportunity for startups that fuse cutting-edge software with real-world products. Read more on why hardware is making a comeback, what AI-powered physical products mean for the future, and how Israel can lead the charge: https://lnkd.in/dTTiQsjV Where do you see the biggest opportunities in AI + hardware? 🚀

We're excited to welcome Ophir Shay, Associate at TLV Partners! 🎉 Ophir’s path to VC has been anything but traditional—shaped by hands-on experience in scaling startups, building teams, and launching a global nonprofit initiative with real impact. It was great chatting about Vertical AI alongside Ariel Sterman and Lia Cromwell yesterday at the GUTS - Harel Innovation hub. Unfortunately, vertical AI represents a very small portion of the companies we meet at TLVP. And not for a lack of desire on our end. I find that too many Israeli founders are focused on building security solutions and infrastructure solutions as opposed to taking the time to uncover a more tangible business idea in the wild. Don't get me wrong - Israeli founders have always been, and will continue to be, great at building security and infra companies! We've invested in quite a few of them at TLV and will keep doing so. But I'm energized by founders who choose the road less traveled. And that road has never been more scenic than it is today in a post LLM world. Thanks to UpWest and NVIDIA for helping put this together.

Had a great time chatting with my friends Max August, Lia Cromwell, Emmanuelle Lipski and Erica Marom (Chernofsky) on a VC panel hosted by Nevo Network last night. While I’ve lived in Israel for 15 years now, a subtle sense of being an outsider always accompanies me - and that’s ok. It’s part of what I, and most olim, signed up for. But Abbey Onn and Maayan Rabinovich are methodically chiseling away at that sense by creating a truly special community for olim in the tech sector through Nevo. I feel privileged to be a part of that community and am consistently blown away by the immense talent, passion and Zionism that my fellow Nevo members demonstrate. Long Israel 🇮🇱
