We don’t use ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude to write our posts. Your account manager, the person you talk with weekly, share your company story with and get to know, is the person who writes all of your posts. Wouldn’t it be easier, cheaper and faster to have AI write your social media posts? Maybe. But that’s not what you’re looking for. You want someone who understands your company’s product, culture and nuances to tell your company’s story. You’re looking to engage your audience, build a relationship with them, gain their trust, educate them, bring a smile to their face. Last time I checked (about 10 seconds ago), no AI is able to do this in an authentic way. Which is not to say that we aren’t using AI at all. Of course we are. AI is a great co-pilot for ideation, research and editing. Just not for your storytelling. For better or worse - no comment on which one it is in this case - it is Election Day in the US tomorrow. Plenty of clients ask me for advice about best practices on a day like this. So here is my 2 🪙🪙 cents! -> Keep all posting a-political. You don't have an opinion about the elections on your company profiles. However you can be helpful if your technology or business supports it. But please don't be like this company I have screenshotted below - they could have done a really cool post about how to use their app to deal with sleepless stress of election day - but instead made a step-by-step guide to voting on election day. Makes me want to 😭 - Whereas the other Reset Medical gave a practical link about workplace stess. -> On your personal profiles, you are entitled to your opinions, just remember that once you post it - even that ❌ Delete Button❌ isn't going to save you if you offend anyone. So if you post it, own it, or don't post it at all. -> It's no longer Halloween, so remember if you DO post, not to post and ghost 👻 - you MUST watch your posts for any out of control trolls. Monitor comments and hide, delete and react as necessary. -> It is OK and often best not to post anything. 🔥Remember to check what is running on paid or pre-scheduled and pause anything not appropriate or that may get lost in the shuffle of extra online traffic that day. -> For goodness sakes - do not use memes! Remember all the brands that jumped on the Bernie Sanders Meme theme of the last election - it's not a good look, doesn't age well. So just don't! I will finish with a prayer --- may the best side win --- and may the people in charge of social media sites tomorrow not have to remove any posts after they have gone live.
