All this and more in the full episode 👉 https://lnkd.in/eB9ENgCc Hear from David and Chris as they offer lessons in leadership, adaptability, and strategies for growth in the international financial services landscape.
How do you go from working for Rupert Murdoch to buying a life company and building it up to manage over £30 billion of assets? In my recent podcast for Financial Planner Life with David Kneeshaw, the CEO of International Financial Group Ltd (IFGL), a leader I’ve respected for years, we dug into everything from the above to increases in regulation and, of course, a Mexican wrestling mask! In a clip from our podcast below, David highlighted that the increased oversight and concentration in financial services isn’t a negative—it’s essential for our profession's evolution. I completely agree. For all of us in financial advice, people are at the heart of what we do. We’re not just managing investments; we’re managing futures, family security, and long-term stability. It’s easy to see regulation as a burden, but when you’re in this business, you realise it’s a necessary step to build trust and credibility for clients. And as David pointed out, the future is likely to see fewer, stronger firms—ones that have weathered the storms and are here to stay. Luckily for us, we plan on being one of those firms! We have had our fair share of regulatory scrutiny. And I've been ultimately grateful regulators have looked into our business because they helped us identify where we could make the business better and stronger. The takeaway? Embrace changes and see them for what they are: an opportunity to lead with integrity, to elevate our profession, and ultimately, to serve our clients better. If you're keen to hear the rest of the episode and more of David's insight, I'll drop the link in the comments 👇
