Transforming rural livelihoods through organic farming
About us
Akshayakalpa is India’s first certified organic dairy enterprise bringing together a balance of practices based in science and the traditional heritage of dairy farming. At Akshayakalpa, sustainability is not a choice, it is a way of life. Our farmer-first, planet-friendly approach ensures every product that goes from our lush farms to your fridge is rich in nutrition, free antibiotics, chemicals and preservatives. At the heart of our eco-system is our community of farmers. Our farmer entrepreneurship initiatives empower them by providing the resources required to emulate a business model that is not only profitable but humane, honest and above all, ethical. We believe in conforming to standards of what is good and right. At Akshayakalpa, this begins at the grass-root level - literally! Organic fodder grown on our farms is the source of nourishment for our cows. No chemicals or hormones are added to their diet and thus do not find their way into the produce. Our cows are free-roaming and stress-free, which positively impacts the quality of the milk and it is high in nutrition and taste. We are part of an on-going journey to create sustainable dairy farms which are a perfect amalgamation of our goal to nurture nature, preserve traditional practices and our scientific expertise. Akshayakalpa Organic milk is the main ingredient for all our products and it is here that we begin our assurance of quality and taste. Our milk is untouched by human hands, cooled via scientifically designed techniques and packaged with utmost care. This ensures zero-contamination and a high quality of product – both of which are tested regularly at our facility. Our Farm Fresh Milk and A2 Milk are used in our other organic dairy products like curd, ghee, butter, paneer and artisan cheese under the Akshayakalpa brand. Each of these products bear the stamp of sustainability, nutrition and great taste – everything Akshayakalpa stands for!

Organic Farm Diaries: Episode 2 Over the years, we have often heard our guests tell us how a visit to our farms has changed their relationship with food, among other things. Something similar happened last weekend, when Anjali Pandey visited our farm in Tiptur. “I learnt there are several types of milk, and that everybody doesn’t have the same kind of tolerance for milk. From now on, when I am hosting people, I’ll ask them about the kind of milk they prefer in their beverage,” she says with a smile. For Ashitha, on the other hand, the visit turned out to be an eye-opener. She now understands the importance of dietary discipline. Father-daughter duo Prem and Manisha might be from different generations but together they have embarked on a journey to consume good food after their visit to our farm. Now, they are now more aware of their food sources and are ready to make mindful food choices together. Here are some glimpses from last weekend’s Organic Farm Diaries. So, when are you taking a break and coming to our farms? Book your visit today by clicking the link below. https://lnkd.in/gwNKPQjs

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness week- Nov 18-24 What is AMR? Antimicrobial resistance occurs when microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, fungi) develop resistance to antimicrobial medicines (antibiotics, antivirals, antifungals). Why is AMR a Concern? 1. Ineffective treatments: AMR makes infections harder to treat. 2. Increased mortality: AMR leads to increased deaths from infections. 3. Economic burden: AMR increases healthcare costs and economic losses. 4. Global health security: AMR threatens global health security. Causes of AMR: 1. Overuse and misuse of antimicrobials 2. Poor infection control practices 3. Lack of new antimicrobial medicines 4. Inadequate surveillance and monitoring Sources of AMR in Dairy: 1. Overuse of antibiotics in dairy farming 2. Poor udder health and hygiene 3. Contaminated water and feed 4. Inadequate processing and maintenance Routes of AMR Transmission: 1. Direct contact with infected animals 2. Contaminated milk and dairy products 3. Environmental contamination (water, soil, feeds) 4. Person-to-person transmission Prevention and Control: 1. Responsible antibiotic use in dairy farming 2. Improved udder health and hygiene 3. Enhanced testing, processing and education to farmers 4. Regular testing and monitoring darting from farms 5. Support sustainable dairy farming practices Good Food Movement Nevin Thomas Sandeep S Shashi Kumar
Antimicrobial Resistance(AMR), what is it? AMR is a condition where the human body/immune system stops responding use of antibiotics in the treatment of viral and microbial diseases. We do not acknowledge this problem, because taking measures to ensure food we eat is safe for human consumption is extremely expensive. Knowingly or unknowingly we are ingesting/eating antibiotics and chemicals through our food system, and we are using drugs without prescription, and aiding development of super bugs in our body and environment which have developed resistance to use of Antibiotics in treatment. The World Health Organization lists AMR as a biggest threat to human food security. We have made a very simple educational video on AMR, any one can understand and take action. This is just about the time we wake up. The complete video link is in the comments. #antimicrobialresistance #amr #food #who #superbugs #organicfood #akshayakalpa #goodfoodmovement

Organic Farm Diaries: Episode 1 Farm Visit Testimonials Work, meetings, traffic, pollution—life in the city can feel like a never-ending cycle. But these families hit pause from their urban lives and escaped to our farm in Tiptur, away from all the noise. For years, we’ve welcomed visitors to experience life at Akshayakalpa’s organic farms. Now, with this brand-new series, we bring to you their stories and glimpses of the farms in their own words. For 17-year-old Maanya Gupta( Nitin Gupta), the freedom to wander across our 25-acre farm, surrounded by clean, crisp air, is an experience that will surely bring her back again. She mentioned how, at every step she took, she could find something new to learn and explore. Ranjeet kumar on the other hand, ended up finding a new favorite—organic and unpolished red rice that he savored at our community kitchen on his farm visit. “I learned what makes milk a complete food filled with nutrients through the sessions organized at the Akshayakalpa farm. I’ll incorporate more dairy into my family's daily diet,” he informed. Shweta Agarwal a mother of two, came back to our farm for the second time with her family and we still managed to leave her with new experiences and memories. Watch Maanya and Ranjeet share their experiences at the Akshayakalpa farms. And as always, every Akshayakalpa initiative aims to reconnect children to nature. Our farm visit is no different. Check out how one of our young visitors gathered new insights about honeybees. And she is not gatekeeping it! So, when are you taking a break and coming to our farms?
