  • With over 500M+ Pilgrims; Maha Kumbh 2025 Has Shocked the World—A Lesson for All! Maha Kumbh has always symbolized faith and tradition, bringing millions together in devotion. For a culturally rich country like India Maha Kumbh has been one of the greatest pilgrimages for people. But in 2025, Maha Kumbh has set a global benchmark for managing a grand festival with an outstanding sustainable initiative. Having a rare celestial alignment, of over half a billion pilgrims, after 144 years, this Maha Kumbh has firm lessons for the rest world—a collaboration of culture and sustainability. But what made it so special this year? From banning single-use plastics to real-time monitoring of Ganga pollution, this year’s Maha Kumbh embraced eco-consciousness at an unprecedented scale. With over 48,000 toilets ensuring hygiene, 20,000 waste bins managing efficient disposal, and nearly 120,000 trees planted using the Miyawaki method to transform barren spaces into lush green zones, the event showed that faith and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand. Beyond Kumbh: Making Sustainability a Way of Life At Amwoodo, we believe sustainability isn’t just about a single event—it’s a habit we need to cultivate every day for a better future. Witnessing an event of this magnitude seamlessly integrate green solutions is inspiring, but the real question remains: If Maha Kumbh can do it, why can’t we make sustainability a way of life? Moreover, India’s eco-startup ecosystem is leading the charge in this space, offering innovative solutions to make sustainability mainstream. From bamboo-based products to plastic alternatives, homegrown startups are transforming environmental responsibility. The Government of India and The Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Government of India have set an example through the Swachh Bharat Mission and the execution of a green Maha Kumbh. But the responsibility doesn’t end here. It’s up to businesses, communities, and individuals to continue this momentum. Let’s take inspiration from Maha Kumbh 2025 and turn sustainability into an everyday practice. 🌍💚 #MahaKumbh2025 #Sustainability

  • A wedding without waste? Sounds impossible—until you actually do it! Weddings are often a full-blown feast of food, excessive use of decor materials, flowers & let’s be honest, a whole lot of waste! But what if a wedding could be a statement of sustainability and giving back? The wedding of Mr. Avik Mitra, the brother of Mr. Agni Mitra, founder of Amwoodo, was the reflection of the core philosophy of the company where it's all about sustainability & conscious living. The wedding was a testament to sustainable celebration. Here's how it was done- - Better Waste Management: 📝 The Table Card Reminder: Every table had a simple yet impactful card that read: “Take What You Love, Love What You Take” This small initiative had a ripple effect on the guests to serve themselves mindfully and promote sensible consumption. 🤝Patterning with Robin Hood Army:  They swooped in, with a mission to fight hunger! As the wedding wrapped up, so did the leftovers—but not into bins! Thanks to these incredible volunteers, the extra food found its way to those who needed it most. - Sustainable gifting: 🎁 At the wedding, instead of conventional gifts, the guests received eco-friendly gifts. All of them were thoughtfully curated with Wooden comb, Bamboo Toothbrush, Bamboo Pocket Tissue, Sustainable Tooth Tablets - Eco-friendly decor: ✨ Decoration is the heart of a wedding, then why not a thoughtful & sustainable one? The wedding was filled with wooden tents for guests—ensuring eco-friendly & aesthetic ambience. From waste management initiatives to eco-conscious gifts, the ceremony stood for a change—A Sustainable One! So, next time someone says a zero-waste wedding is impossible, just send them this post (and maybe an invite to our next big green celebration)! #sustainablewedding #ecofriendlycelebration #sustainablegifting #linkedin

Business and Investments @ Zerodha and Rainmatter

To date, Rainmatter by Zerodha has invested in over 120 startups, and in our extended network, we have an additional ~100 startups, mainly through other funds we work closely with. For Rainmatter, investing and supporting startups is more about creating an ecosystem of Indian entrepreneurs who want to build a business and do well for the community around them. Over the past few months, many of you have asked if there are ways for teams or individuals to contribute to building this ecosystem with us. Here are a few things we can start with - 1. If you are a startup that can potentially offer services to our startups, post in the comments with a short note. We will collate the notes and send them to our network of startups. I am sure this will be a win-win. But do share specific services you offer and how to reach your team. Most importantly, please be concise. 2. If you are a VC, Founder, mentor, incubator, or anyone else and feel there are collaborations with our startups across Fintech, Climate, and Health, do let us know. I would love to make connections with our startups. 3. If you have ideas and feedback for our startups - I would love to hear that too. 4. If you have any feedback for us, we would love to hear that as well. You can leave a note at dinesh.pai@zerodha.com. I will go through it personally and share it with the rest of our team. For all of us at Rainmatter, investing is more about trying to learn with our startups and being their marketing team. We try to do our bit to add value to the businesses we invest in incrementally. These entrepreneurs are already doing a tough job, and we keep hoping to make their journeys easier.

Building Amwoodo | Building Sustainable Solutions for tomorrow! |Bamboo Tech x Social Entrepreneur | Planting 1 Mil Bamboo🎍Saplings

I've been on this entrepreneurial journey for almost the last six years. I've seen many founders, witnessed numerous failures, and celebrated many successes. But most importantly, what we've observed is that "every founder has a FOMO of replacement leadership," and that’s what actually slows down an organization's growth and its rise in the industry. However, after six years of leadership at Amwoodo, I’ve come to understand that if you want to build something truly big, you need a strong second line of leaders in the game. Also, the most important realization is that "you do not need to be involved in every single aspect of business operations." You need to create a second line of leaders who can act as replicas of you. As a single person, you can personally put in a maximum of 12-13 hours of work in a day. But if you build 10 replica leaders who each contribute the same 12-13 hours, that amounts to 130 hours of work in a day and that is what truly changes the projected growth of an organization. If you look at most Fortune 500 companies, including Google, Apple, Microsoft, & Amazon businesses we all admire they follow the same methodology for organizational growth. The way these organizations have grown in the last few years is simply phenomenal, and it is all because of leadership. If India wants to build companies of this scale at home, then as a founder, you must implement this kind of leadership within your organization. At Amwoodo, we are now focusing heavily on developing our next line of leaders to drive the company’s next phase of growth. After all, without any FOMO, you must solely focus on this—only then will your journey as an entrepreneur and a leader be complete. Empower your next line of leaders. Establish the legacy of your journey. Thank you.

  • It is the best time to invest in West Bengal as we march towards leadership through technology and the power of our youth! We are delighted to be part of the 8th Bengal Global Summit 2025. Bengal continues to create new opportunities. At Amwoodo, we are committed to contributing to this journey. This isn’t just development. This is the time for sustainable growth. This is West Bengal’s moment. This is Kolkata’s time. Look around you - some of India’s biggest ideas, businesses, and cultural movements started right here in Bengal. From the first metro to the foundations of modern banking, we have always been ahead. ‘What Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow’ - this isn’t just a saying; it’s history repeating itself. So, it’s time we lead again. There is no way Bengal can fail! #BGBS2025
