As AI continues to advance, it's crucial that we ensure diversity in its development. Sindhu Gangadharan, Managing Director of SAP Labs India, highlights a critical issue: “Women today make just 25% of AI researchers globally, which is a glaring gap that reflects not only underrepresentation but also the missed opportunities of building more inclusive and equitable systems.” Lisa Su, CEO of AMD, echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the need to encourage more women in high-potential fields: “There are still not enough women [in this domain]... success in technology is independent of gender.” Leaders like Ritwika Chowdhury, Founder & CEO of Unscript .AI, and Dr. Shivani Rai Gupta, Chief Data Scientist at Jio, stress the importance of women's participation in AI development. Chowdhury states, “Women represent half of the end-users of AI technology, making their input in development vital.” Gupta adds, “Women’s participation is vital, not just for their technical expertise but also for the ethical and social impact.” As Gangadharan aptly puts it, “When women lead in AI, we don’t just add diversity; we bring empathy. We challenge the biases, and we design systems that are more inclusive and human-centric.” With generative AI poised to add up to $1.5 trillion to India's GDP over the next seven years, it's imperative that this growth is inclusive. Let's champion women and underrepresented voices in AI, providing them with the platforms, opportunities, and recognition they deserve. Kudos to all the inspiring leaders and organizations driving a more inclusive AI future! Read the complete story here: https://lnkd.in/gdZadyS8

Kubernetes, once celebrated as the backbone of modern container orchestration, is facing growing criticism for its complexity, high costs, and operational challenges. Companies like Gitpod and Threekit Visual Commerce are pivoting to alternatives like custom-built solutions and Google Cloud Run, seeking simplicity, scalability, and efficiency. While Gitpod’s Flex addresses issues like secure code execution and resource optimization for dynamic development environments, ThreeKit found Kubernetes’ overhead and slow autoscaling ill-suited for agile projects, opting for pay-per-use models instead. Experts like Murli Thirumale (Pure Storage) argue that Kubernetes remains vital for generative AI and application workloads but note the need to differentiate use cases. Meanwhile, tools like Okteto are tailoring Kubernetes for production-focused development environments with custom resource managers and isolated clusters.

The telecommunications industry has always grappled with its biggest nemesis – fraud. From SIM box fraud and Wangiri scams (explained below) to device and subscription frauds, the sector loses billions annually to increasingly sophisticated schemes. However, telecom companies are putting up a good fight with AI for fraud detection and prevention. Telecom fraud is a global issue, with annual losses estimated at $32.7 billion. “Fraud will happen—that’s the reality. But as soon as patterns emerge, we must catch them so they don’t propagate,” Harsha Angeri, VP & head of AI business at Subex, told AIM.
