Two days ago, while walking through a remote road in the jungle, we noticed a dog standing under a tree, looking lost and confused. Concerned, we asked a person nearby about the dog. He told us that just a while ago, a car had driven up to this spot. The driver opened the door, let the dog out, and then sped away, leaving the helpless animal behind. The dog stayed there, unsure of what to do, hoping its owner would come back. But the person knew, just like we did, that the dog had been abandoned, left to fend for itself in an environment it had never known. This isn’t an isolated incident.
