Excited to Share Apollo Proton Cancer Centres First Research Publication of 2025! We are proud to present our study, "Influence of Spatial Redistribution of Heterogeneities in Proton Beam Characteristics", published in Physica Medica. This research explores the critical effects of spatially distributed heterogeneous materials on proton pencil beam scanning. Key Highlights: ●Investigated the behavior of proton beams in diverse density combinations using experimental measurements and Monte Carlo simulations. ●Identified dose uncertainties and range perturbations in both virtual and physical phantoms, particularly at lower proton energies. ●Limitations in treatment planning systems (TPS) and the importance of rigorous validation for complex heterogeneous interfaces like surgical implants.
