Harassment and Poor Service by MakeMyTrip A Customer’s Nightmare
I am compelled to share my deeply disappointing and frustrating experience with MakeMyTrip, a brand I trusted for planning a special gift for my brother’s honeymoon. This ordeal has not only caused immense stress but also exposed significant lapses in their customer service and booking system.
On 18th December, I made two bookings through the MakeMyTrip MakeMyTrip Care for a hotel in Tekapo, New Zealand. While one booking was in order, the other mistakenly had my name as the primary guest instead of my brother’s. Realizing this error within 5 minutes, I immediately contacted MakeMyTrip to rectify it. They assured me that it would be resolved within 24 hours.
As on today, ie 24th December the status is the same, and I am still chasing them with nothing in my hand.
1. 1st-2nd Jan Booking- hotel has confirmed that there is no booking made via MakeMyTrip
2. 2nd-3rd Jan booking- hotel informed me that I have been placed on a shared basis with another guest, Mr. Pradhan—completely unacceptable for a honeymoon booking and on top of that even if the name is rectified they will not allow the guest without showing the credit card used at the time of booking which was no where mentioned at the app.
The hotel has been incredibly understanding and has written to MakeMyTrip confirming that they are waiving any cancellation or penalty charges. Yet, MakeMyTrip continues to deny a resolution.
After countless calls and emails, MakeMyTrip keeps shifting the blame to the hotel, despite the hotel clearly stating their willingness to cooperate and cancel the booking without penalties.
I am appalled by the lack of transparency, accountability, and basic customer service from MakeMyTrip. I have paid a huge amount for two nights which is showing non refundable and now I am left stranded without any resolution/refund/booking.
I urge MakeMyTrip’s leadership to step in and take accountability. This incident has left me no choice but to consider legal action to recover my money.
Please rectify this immediately and show your customers that you care.
