Remember the thrill of learning to ride a bicycle for the first time? I was around 7 or 8 when my neighbor uncle rented a bicycle and decided to teach us—his two daughters and me. We wobbled, we crashed, and we laughed, but each time we fell, we got back up, learning to balance and pedal without realizing when the support had slipped away. Think back to how you learned. Maybe it was a playful gali ka uncle, a parent, or a sibling running beside you. But one thing's for sure: you didn’t master it from a “How to Ride a Bicycle” book or an imaginary “School of Cycling.” You learned by doing—braving risks, making mistakes, and just getting hands-on. In today’s world, our attention spans are shorter than an Insta reel, yet we’re drowning in information overload. This is why playful, hands-on learning is more essential than ever. That's exactly what Maneesha Warkade and I will explore at the Find Festival hosted by Ekya Nava through an engaging workshop. We’ll dive into the power of games to drive motivation, engagement, and creativity in learning—and share how Design Thinking shapes impactful, memorable game experiences. 🎮 The workshop also includes a #GameGalleryWalk that will showcase some interesting games that can be used in STEM education. Thanks to the Ekya Schools and Sony Joseph for the wonderful oppurtunity to make a diffrence in the way our kids learn! • #ConflictManagment Workshop at Booking Holdings (NASDAQ: BKNG) Last week, we wrapped up an immersive and hands-on Conflict Management workshop for Booking Holdings India by Namitha Vijayakumar. The energy in the room was palpable from the very start! Conflict is something we all experience—whether in the workplace or in everyday life—but the way we manage it can make all the difference. 🤔 Through this 1-day workshop, we didn’t just scratch the surface. We dove deep into understanding conflict styles, building emotional intelligence, and learning practical techniques to communicate assertively and collaboratively through #transactionalanalysis. We kicked off the day with team-based exercises that helped participants reflect on their natural conflict response. From there, it was all about equipping them with the right tools—fostering empathy, developing curiosity for the root cause, and practicing open and respectful communication. What truly stood out was watching participants shift from discomfort to empowerment, learning how to turn conflicts into opportunities for growth. By the end, they left with actionable strategies and, most importantly, a renewed sense of confidence in handling tricky conversations. 💪✨ Conflict is inevitable, but mismanagement doesn't have to be. Could your team benefit from this kind of transformative experience? Let’s talk! 💼👥 #ConflictManagement #TeamBuilding #LeadershipSkills #GrowthMindset #WorkshopsThatWork

Games for Change - #UNESCO India Festival The last two days at the Games for Change UNESCO India Festival have been truly humbling and inspiring as a game designer! The event was a hub of innovation, with thought-provoking panels, expert talks, and global showcases highlighting the powerful role games can play in driving positive social, economic, and civic change. For the first time in a 2 day conference, I met some selfless individuals passionate about using games to create impact at the grassroot level. They flew in from different parts of the globe - not for lead generation, boosting the bottomline or fundraising; but to discuss , learn and share ideas on how games can be used for solving wicked problems plaguing our country as we start our stride towards being a trillion dollar economy. I also had the privilege of showcasing our own game, #I4Inclusion, which promotes Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Here’s my humble attempt to capture some key highlights of the event : #Frameworks : Our dear friend Mohsin Memon presented a powerful frame work ‘AFERR’ (Activation,Forecasting, Experimentation,Realization, Reflection) that draws on cognitive neuroscience to optimize learning processes. #GameforUrbanDevelopment:A fascinating talk on how physical board games can contribute to SDG goals, governance and policy-making (including reducing carbon emissions in the construction industry) by Dr. Balaji KALLURI, PhD #SeriousGames: I was completely blown away when Namita Mohandas took us through the serious games developed by their org and how they’ve been helping young girls (from the rural belt of North India) become more aware of sexual reproductive health, menstrual hygiene and empowering them to take control of their life choices. The ‘Go Nisha Go’ (www.gonishago.com) video game and its impact at the grassroots level was simply amazing ! I also throughly enjoyed the panel discussion on games in policy making, raising good gamers and pvt- public partnership to make games accessible to everyone. I came back home with revitalised hope and enthusiasm to use game design and games for impacting/changing lives for better! Thankyou RUBIKA Pune and UNESCO MGIEP for this fabulous oppurtunity to learn and share with like-minded passionate souls! #gamesforgood #gamebasedlearning #gamedesign #socialimpactofgames

Revisiting Malgudi through Game-based Learning! I’ve been away from LinkedIn for some time to focus on building immersive and impactful learning games. One of the latest creations is based on the nostalgic theme of #MalgudiDays – a story we all know and love. The folkish background tune, the rusty images of the Malgudi railway station, Swami, his friends and Ajji (his grandmom) are part of core childhood memories for those of us who grew up in the 90’s. While designing this game, I leaned into the power of #nostalgia as a hook to engage participants on a deeper emotional level. Familiarity with the setting allowed for easier immersion, while the timeless values and interesting characters presented in the story helped frame the complex concepts in a playful manner. I used this game recently for DigiKey Global Capability Center team to explore the nuances of #problemsolving in teams, where participants must work together, leverage each other’s strengths, and navigate the challenges of dynamic collaboration. It’s incredible to see how the lessons from an era gone by can still offer relevant insights into modern teamwork and leadership. The game became a wonderful bridge between #storytelling and #learning, and I’m excited about the meaningful conversations it sparked. Curious to see how nostalgia can fuel learning? Let’s chat! #LearningByDoing #Teamwork #ProblemSolving #LeadershipDevelopment #GameBasedLearning #Nostalgia
