Today, the Airtel Africa Foundation is delighted to announce a US$500,000 Fellowship scheme that will benefit undergraduate students at the Zanzibar campus of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras Zanzibar Campus). The maiden initiative of the newly created Airtel Africa Foundation will target students from the 14 African countries where Airtel Africa has a presence, with beneficiaries being designated as Airtel Africa Fellows. The Fellowship will cover tuition fees and part of the beneficiaries’ living expenses over the four-year’ duration of the Bachelor of Science degree course. Each of the Airtel Africa Fellows will receive US$12,000 towards tuition fees and US$500 for living expenses every year. Indian Institute of Technology, Madras is a public technical and research university based in Chennai, India and one of the leading institutes in cutting-edge technological research.
