Behind each cup brewed and meal served at Swag Café lies a story of determination and hope woven by the individuals who work there. ☕️ The café, the first of its kind in Coimbatore, India to be managed by People with Disabilities (PwD), is a result of the collaboration between BGSW #CSR and Swarga Foundation, Coimbatore. Swag Café was conceptualized to empower and promote entrepreneurial skills amongst PwD. This inclusive café was launched by Hon’ble Justice K V Viswanathan, Supreme Court Judge and the first customers at Swag café were Shilpa Deodhar, CSR Head, BGSW and Swarnalatha J, Founder, Swarga Foundation. ✨ The project incorporated 20 days of practical training encompassing aspects like customer interaction, hospitality, billing, quality-led service delivery, and facilities management.  ⚙️ This was followed by setting up the commercial equipment and allied infrastructure.  🎗️ Support from BGSW is also extended for operations, supplies, and provisions to give everyone a delightful experience. We’re thrilled to share that BGSW’s #CSR efforts in Community Development and Environmental Sustainability were recognised with the Corporate Social Responsibility Award (Large Category) at the 13th VDMA India Mechanical Engineering Summit in Pune recently. This recognition further strengthens our commitment to creating meaningful change. 🤝One of our projects, in collaboration with the Coimbatore District Administration, supports people without a home, those who are terminally ill, and individuals facing mental health challenges. To date, we’ve reached over 2,000 individuals, including 392 homeless people, through dedicated ambulance services. 💧On the environmental front, our integrated watershed development program in Maharashtra's Osmanabad district has conserved 46 million liters of water. Working alongside 754 farmers, we’re proud to help promote sustainable farming across 100 hectares, benefiting 3,023 households by increasing farm productivity.
