𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭! Welcome to the first post of my series, The Coaching Shift ↗️ Over time, some of my amazing clients and well wishers have encouraged me to create more awareness around the transformative power of coaching. They often tell me to create awareness around, “𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠? 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬? 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡?” 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞: 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐝. Through this series, I aim to share real insights into how coaching works and how it facilitates meaningful shifts in individuals' lives. Let me begin with a real example from a recent coaching conversation with a senior global leader. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: “I feel unheard in my new job. Despite being a senior-level professional with global experience, who managed ₹600 crore business, and lead a team of 200 people, I feel people here don’t value my expertise or accept me. This leaves me feeling irritated and angry.” At first glance, this seemed like an external challenge—an issue caused by the workplace dynamic. But as the coaching conversation unfolded, guided by powerful questions, deeper reflections began to surface. 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 ❇️The dynamics of this organization are different from what I’m used to and I shouldn’t compare. ❇️I might come across as an arrogant or overpowering leader. ❇️I recognize that my ego might be playing a role in this. 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 ✅ I need to start understanding others’ perspectives and avoid taking people for granted. ✅Accept that building credibility in a new organization is a gradual process and it is my responsibility ✅Find ways to align with the current organization’s culture and ways of working. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭 What started as an external challenge— “𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐦𝐞”—𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 ➡️ "𝗜 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐝𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐲 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦, 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭." This is the essence of coaching. Clients often bring challenges tied to external circumstances—workplace struggles, personal conflicts, or life transitions. But as they engage in the coaching process, they uncover limiting beliefs or patterns within themselves that hold them back. With this new awareness, they are empowered to take meaningful actions, which leads to profound and lasting transformation. Stay tuned for more insights!
