No Women in the Top 100 Highest-Paid Athletes: Why Is This Still Happening? 🔴 More fans. More TV coverage. More investments. Yet, in 2024, not a single woman made Sportico’s list of the 100 highest-paid athletes. The Numbers Tell the Story: - Coco Gauff was the highest-paid female athlete at $30.4M—yet fell short of the $37.5M cutoff for the top 100. - The top-paid male athlete, Cristiano Ronaldo, made $260M—over 8 times more than Gauff. - Only 29% of women's earnings come from actual sports contracts, while men earn over 72% from salaries and prize money. The problem? Women are still underpaid, undervalued, and dependent on endorsements rather than competitive contracts. 💬 How do we fix this? Should brands and leagues step up, or is this a deeper issue in sports culture? DEI initiatives have long faced systemic challenges, but what if AI could help fix them? What AI Can Do for DEI: - Bias-Free Hiring – AI can screen applications objectively, ensuring equal opportunities. - Inclusive Work Cultures – AI-powered tools can flag discriminatory language in real-time. - Equitable Career Growth – AI can identify gaps in leadership diversity & suggest interventions. But Here’s the Catch: AI is only as fair as the data it is trained on. If bias exists in the system, AI can reinforce it instead of removing it. So, is Generative AI the future of DEI or another tool that needs human oversight? 🔗 Read Sabyasachi (Saby) Mukherjee's take on AI & DEI here: https://lnkd.in/dJsjGZ7X #GenerativeAIinDEI #DiversityInTech #ArtificialIntelligence #AIInHiring #WorkplaceInclusion #AIForGood #InclusiveLeadership #Changeincontent #DEI #AIinDEI

💡 Women in AI: Why the Gender Gap Still Exists in the World’s Fastest-Growing Industry AI is reshaping industries, but who is shaping AI? Despite the growing demand for AI specialists, women remain underrepresented in the field. 🔍 The Numbers Say It All: - Less than 25% of AI specialists are women. - Only 14% of AI faculty worldwide are women. - At Google, only 10% of AI researchers are women. - In India, women make up just 4-8% of executive tech roles. Why is this happening? - Unconscious hiring bias – Men are 25% more likely to be hired for AI roles than women. - Lack of role models – Only 11% of AI role models are women. - Social conditioning – Girls are still discouraged from pursuing STEM careers. The Future of AI Cannot Be Built on Gender Bias. It is time to break stereotypes, provide mentorship, and create inclusive opportunities for women in AI. How can we close the AI gender gap? When Skincare Stops Being Self-Care: The Troubling Trend of Sephora Kids The skincare industry is experiencing a new wave of customers: young girls as young as 10 who are splurging on anti-ageing serums they do not need. Welcome to the Sephora Kids era, where beauty standards are reaching children before they even hit puberty. What is happening? 🔹 Social media is pushing unrealistic skincare trends onto kids. 🔹 Brands are profiting from their insecurities, marketing retinol and anti-wrinkle creams to preteens. 🔹 Many children buy expensive skincare not out of need but because social media tells them to. Thankfully, some brands are fighting back. Kiehl’s, L'Oréal, and The Ordinary are taking a stand, reminding kids to enjoy childhood instead of worrying about fine lines. But is this enough? Are we genuinely protecting young consumers, or is skincare marketing spiralling out of control? 💬 What do you think? Should the beauty industry be regulated when it comes to marketing to children? Let us know in the comments. 🔗 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/d92pSdYc #SephoraKids #KidsAndSkincare #BeautyStandards #SkincareMarketing #SelfCareOrSelfDoubt #SocialMediaInfluence #ChildhoodMatters

🏆 Inclusive Leader of the Week: Juzer Tambawalla 🏆 Every week, we celebrate a leader who is reshaping industries with real inclusion. This week, we spotlight Juzer Tambawalla, CFP, Director of Sales Enablement at Franklin Templeton India. 💬 What makes him an inclusive leader? - He understands that hiring more women is not enough—companies must enable them with policies that make work accessible, flexible, and safe. - He advocates for age-inclusive hiring practices, challenging the notion that sales roles are only for the young. - He believes that inclusion isn’t just a “policy” but a culture shift that companies must actively invest in. His take on workplace culture: “If all industries start offering commuting support and flexible policies, women’s participation will significantly increase.” We need more leaders like Juzer who don’t just talk about DEI—but actually build inclusive environments. https://lnkd.in/d-tkeYm7 💬 What do you think makes a workplace truly inclusive? Viraj Bahl Rejects the 70-Hour Workweek Trend! While industry leaders debate 70-hour and even 90-hour workweeks, Veeba founder Viraj Bahl has taken a radical step in the opposite direction—reducing his company’s workweek to 40 hours. 📌 Bahl’s key points: - Founders may work longer, but expecting employees to do the same is unfair. - Work-life balance is critical for productivity & innovation. - Companies must focus on efficiency over excessive hours. His take? The 70-hour workweek is obsolete. Do you agree? 🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/gyrfY36Y #VirajBahl #70HourWorkweek #WorkLifeBalance #HustleCulture #Veeba #CorporateIndia #Changeoncontent #EmployeeWellness

The Mentorship Gap for Women Is Holding Them Back - 63% of women have NEVER had a mentor. - Only 37% have access to career mentorship. - Employees with mentors are 5x more likely to get promoted. And yet, mentorship for women remains limited, underutilised, and inaccessible to many. 👉 Why? - Women hesitate to seek mentors, believing hard work alone will drive success. - Senior male mentors often avoid mentoring women due to fear of misinterpretation. - Many mentorship programs are informal, and women get overlooked. 🛠 The Fix? - Women must actively seek out mentors. - Companies should formalise mentorship programs. - More senior women should mentor the next generation. The time for waiting is over. Women deserve better mentorship opportunities to break barriers, advance in leadership, and thrive. 🔗 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/dnceWbHJ #MentorshipForWomen #WomenLeadership #CareerGrowth #WorkplaceDiversity #WomenEntrepreneurs #DiversityAndInclusion #Changeincontent #EqualOpportunities
