In a landmark ruling, the Delhi High Court has set aside the illegal cancellation orders issued by the Transport Department against cars equipped with bulletproofing. This favorable outcome was achieved through the diligent efforts of Clergy and Wisemen LLP. The case revolved around the cancellation of car registrations due to the installation of bulletproofing, an area that lacks clear regulations. Clergy and Wisemen LLP argued that there are no specific rules or regulations governing the bulletproofing of cars and armoured vests, making the cancellations baseless. The High Court's decision not only sets aside the cancellation orders but also directs the Transport Department to pass a reasoned order in such cases. This move marks a significant step towards ensuring that arbitrary actions by government departments are curtailed and that the rights of citizens are protected. The trend of canceling registrations of cars equipped with bulletproofing has been a cause of concern in Delhi NCT, with many facing similar actions without legal basis. This ruling by the Delhi High Court serves as a precedent, highlighting the need for clear regulations in the area of bulletproofing to avoid such unjust actions in the future. #legal #bulletproof #car #dhc https://lnkd.in/gJZg_AHD

So, Clergy and Wisemen LLP just finished up a hiring round, and it hit me – the number of times we got asked, "How did you guys start your own firm straight out of the gates?" Especially this time, with folks applying who've got as much as experience at the bar as we do, if not more. Here’s the lowdown: Prateek Lakra and I, just after we won our first National Mock Trial Competition , would dream about starting a law firm. Sounds crazy, right? First-gen lawyers with no big names backing us, just a whole lot of nerve and a dream that felt a bit too big for our boots. Why did we jump in? Pure 'fitoor' – that passionate, almost obsessive drive. It wasn't just about starting a law firm; it was about doing it our way, creating something that stood for what we believed in. And boy, was it a ride – full of ups and downs, late nights, and the kind of learning you just can't get in a classroom. This journey, from dream to reality, wasn't smooth. There were times we questioned everything. But what kept us going was the vision of Clergy and Wisemen LLP – not just as a law firm but as a place where we could make a real impact, do meaningful work, and grow alongside people who shared our vision. To anyone out there thinking about starting their own thing, here's my two cents: It's possible. Yes, it's scary, and yes, it's hard. But that dream you're sitting on? It could be the next big thing. The key is to keep that 'fitoor', that burning passion, alive. Don't let the fear of failure stop you. Embrace the journey, the learnings, and the growth that comes with it. We're proof that with a bit of madness, a lot of hard work, and an unwavering belief in your dream, you can make it happen. Clergy and Wisemen LLP started as a late-night introspection, and now? It's our reality. If we could do it, so can you. Let’s keep pushing boundaries, together. This picture came in the memories, 7 years ago we had taken the first step towards Clergy and Wisemen LLP, as this was taken by Prateek Lakra in between the rounds of the National Mock Trial Competition, which we ended up winning. #ClergyAndWisemenLLP #DreamBig #LawFirmFounders #MakeItHappen #FirstGenLawyers

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) made significant revisions to the governance framework applicable to listed companies through an amendment to the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 (LODR Regulations). Some of the key changes include: Disclosure Framework: The amendments introduce objective criteria for determining material events/information, reduce the timeline for making disclosures, and mandate additional disclosures. This encompasses information related to agreements binding listed entities and addressing market rumors. In a recent development, the Central Government has introduced comprehensive guidelines for coaching centers across all states. Notably, one of the significant changes is the prohibition of admission to children under the age of 16. Unlike previous regulations, which lacked specific criteria for student admission, the new guidelines establish a clear age restriction, imposing penalties and fines on non-compliance. #law #legalupdate #children #coaching #knowledgesharing
