Reflecting on the past semester, I'm immensely proud of the strides we've made at Cyber Zee, the cybersecurity club at SRM University Sonepat, Haryana. As a co-lead, I had the privilege of organizing and leading workshops that delved into critical aspects of cybersecurity, fostering a community of informed and skilled individuals. 🕵️♂️ The ART of OSINT: Unveiling the Hidden Data 🕵️♀️ On 19th September 2024, we hosted an insightful workshop on Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), emphasizing the power of publicly available data and its ethical applications. The session was enriched by esteemed speakers: - Swati L., Founder of CRAC Learning, who shared profound insights into practical OSINT applications with real-world case studies. - bhavya jain, Security Engineer at Zomato, who captivated the audience with hands-on demonstrations of cutting-edge OSINT tools. Key highlights included: - OSINT Basics: Introduction to OSINT and its real-world significance. - Toolkits and Techniques: Hands-on exploration of powerful OSINT tools. - Practical Scenarios: Case studies and ethical considerations in leveraging OSINT. 🌐 Networking Nexus: Enabling Effortless Connections 🌐 From 7th to 9th November 2024, we embarked on a three-day journey into the realm of computer networking. As the speaker, I guided participants through: - Networking Fundamentals & Internet Basics - Nodes and Topologies - IP Management, Routing, and Switching - Hands-on Practice with Tools like Cisco Packet Tracer The hands-on sessions with Cisco Packet Tracer enabled participants to design, configure, and troubleshoot networks in real-time, bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application. 💻 Malware Mayhem: Threats that Lurk into the Shadows 💻 On 27th September 2024, I had the opportunity to lead a workshop focused on understanding and combating malware threats. The workshop delved into: - Understanding Malware: Types, attack vectors, and their impact. - Analysing Threats: Techniques and tools for malware detection and mitigation. - Practical Demonstrations: Real-world use of malware analysis tools to expose hidden vulnerabilities. Witnessing the enthusiasm of participants as they engaged with complex cybersecurity challenges was truly inspiring. These workshops were a collective effort, and I extend my heartfelt gratitude to: Student Coordinators: Soubhik Chakraborty, Pallavi Kaushik, Kevin Dhankhar, Siddharth Gaur, Divyanka Kirola and Purav Kant. Faculty Coordinators: Dr. Seema Kharb and Dr. Manvi Khatri, for their unwavering guidance and support. Such initiatives underscore the transformative potential of technology and the importance of ethical practices in the ever-evolving field of cybersecurity. #CyberSecurity #CyberZee #SRMUniversity #OSINT #Networking #MalwareAnalysis #TechEvents #LearningTogether

Find the hidden backdoor before the blue team does! Challenge: Operation Backdoor Hunt Try now: https://lnkd.in/gPuVepgw Scenario: Your team has gained access to a compromised web server that was previously under the control of an APT (Advanced Persistent Threat) group. However, the blue team has just detected unusual activity and has started their incident response process. You have a limited window of time to uncover the hidden backdoor before they do. Objective: Find and exploit the hidden backdoor before the defenders patch it. Challenge Details A vulnerable web application hosted on a Linux server. The system logs indicate recent suspicious activity, hinting at a potential hidden access point left by the attackers. The blue team is actively monitoring and may shut down your access if you take too long. Your Mission: Identify the backdoor – Analyze the web server files, logs, and application source code to locate the hidden backdoor. Exploit it – Use the backdoor to gain elevated access to the system before it’s patched. Cover your tracks – Extract proof of access without triggering security alerts. HINT - A recent zero-day was exploited on this server. #cybersecurity #infosec #redteam #blueteam #security #backdoor #zeroday
