The ePlane Company and the International Critical Care Air Transfer Team (ICATT) have announced a groundbreaking partnership to enhance emergency medical response in India. As part of this agreement, The ePlane Company will deliver 788 electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) air ambulances to ICATT in a deal valued at over $1 billion—the largest initial contract in the emerging eVTOL industry. These next-generation air ambulances will be based on the e200x eVTOL, an ultra-compact, highly efficient aircraft designed for safe, affordable, and sustainable medical air transport. With an 8-meter wingspan, it can take off and land on rooftops or roadside fields, significantly reducing emergency response times compared to ground ambulances. ICATT’s mission is to strengthen India’s air ambulance network, ensuring that no critical patient is left behind due to geographical barriers.
