Being a woman from a conservative background, Samriddhi Pandey’s journey in overcoming societal barriers to pursue a career in aeronautical engineering and establish her own company is just one example of acting on this belief. A few years later, we continue to defy the status quo by creating innovative solutions that make a positive difference in people’s lives.

A few weeks ago, I had the honour of participating in a thought-provoking discussion on integrating emerging technologies in healthcare and how hospitals are adopting upcoming innovations to provide better care across larger geographies. Hospitals like Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital & Research Centre are expanding far and wide under the leadership of Dr.Tarang Gianchandani. We explored the role of drones and their significance in making healthcare more accessible to people in need. In addition to discussing key applications such as delivering blood, fresh frozen plasma (FFP), and histopathology specimens, I emphasized the vital role drones can play for first responders; acting as the eyes in the sky for medical professionals, enabling remote assessment of emergencies and determining the necessary supplies at accident sites. Additionally, I highlighted the crucial role that hospitals should assume in implementing these technologies by investing in infrastructure and partnering with drone companies to establish these systems. Since drones require designated areas for safe landing and takeoff, they cannot operate in unsuitable locations that do not present a safe landing location. By extending healthcare access to all hard-to-reach areas in India, my sole aim is to prevent deaths that occur due to lack of access to healthcare. Together with hospitals and healthcare providers, my objective for Defy Aerospace is to be the bridge that delivers better healthcare for Humanity. I was privileged to be invited by CII Western Region, Dr. Anjali Kumar, Associate Professor and Program In-charge - Healthcare Management - Welingkar Institute of Management and Mr. Joy Chakraborty, COO, P. D. Hinduja National Hospital & Medical Research Centre to participate in this panel discussion along with other esteemed guests - Nikhel Goel, Gour Chakraborty Rajkumar Patil, Yadavalli Subrahmanyam, Mohit Rajpal, Tarang Gianchandani.
