B.Tech in Design is one of its kind program crafted specially for empathetic and creative minds intent on understanding socio-technical systems around us and designing interventions for the wicked problems in these systems. Day 3 of the Design Degree Show 2024 wrapped up with some fantastic highlights! ✨ Suman Bhandary's typography workshop kicked things off, exploring the art of visually compelling text. Amya Rai from Microsoft then delivered an inspiring keynote on 'Design as Storytelling: Crafting Compelling Narratives,' highlighting the power of storytelling in design. Abhimanyu Bhardwaj from BCG X team followed with a captivating session on 'The Designer’s Toolkit: AI as Collaborator or Competitor,' discussing AI's evolving role in design. A special moment was Director of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Prof. Rangan Banerjee visiting the DDS exhibition and admiring our students' creative projects. We concluded with a heartfelt closing ceremony, celebrating the creativity that defined DDS 2024. Excited to announce the award of the IITD-TUD Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi - Delft University of Technology Collaborative Research Seed Funding. Grateful to have collaborated with Sam Franklin, a Design Historian at an institute renowned for its analytical threads of Design (TU Delft | Industrial Design Engineering), who co-articulated a proposal just hours before the deadline. Grateful to the internal and external reviewers for believing in this idea. Our project, Sustainability in Design Education: Comparative Design Studies at IIT Delhi & TU Delft, delves into the historical evolution and approaches to sustainable design education at both institutions, examining their pedagogies, identifying commonalities and differences, and recommending enhancements for sustainability in design and technology education. This cross-cultural research aims to foster collaboration and provide valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and practitioners globally.
